Macbeth: The casting of Robert Egger's new adaptation of Shakespeare's Macbeth has come to a finish with the additions of Bonnie Aarons (The Nun II, Camp Pleasant Lake), Sophia di Martino (The Radleys, "Loki"), and Dixie Egerickx (The Secret Garden, Summerland) as the three witches of the classic tragedy. Jimmy Ellis has written the film.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Flesh and Blood: A new Texas Chainsaw Massacre film is on the way from director Bryan Bertino (Flames, The Strangers). Thomas Haden Church (A Lost Sense of Heaven, Citizen), Cameron Britton (The Oil Slick, Gambit and Rogue), Sarah Catherine Hook ("The White Lotus", "Cruel Intentions"), and Dylan Sprayberry (Guy on the Fly, The Girls) are set for key roles. Church will play a Texas Ranger looking for his missing daughter, who will be played by Hook. Sprayberry will play the boyfriend of Hook's character. Britton, meanwhile, will play the famed villain, Leatherface. Clive Steinbeck (Night Stalker, Bigfoot) has penned the project.
DOOM: A new video game film is on the way based on the Doom video game series. Alan Ritchson (Sgt. Rock, Masters of the Universe: The Sword of Power) will play the eponymous "Doom Guy" while Tilda Swinton (The Scam of Success, Blackbird) and Woody Harrelson (Eve of Destruction, Detroit: Become Human) are set for major supporting roles. James Wan (Tarzan, Resident Evil 5) is set as director from a script by Joshua Collins (Punch Buggy, Cedar Ridge).
Starlight: Jennifer Lawrence (Metroid, An Anonymous Girl), Sydney Sweeney (Poison Ivy: Mind Games, Black Hole), and Chris Evans (Run, The Lone Gunman) are set to headline a new 1960s Hollywood-set drama from writer Chad Taylor (The House Down the Street, Under the Influence), his first new film since Season 31. Lawrence will play an established Hollywood star whose thunder is stolen by a new star played by Sweeney. Evans will play a Hollywood leading man. Todd Haynes (Prodigy, Revelations) has been hired to direct.
Tears of an Angel: Elle Fanning (Spider-Man: Requiem, Klondike) and George MacKay (Pompeii, H.H.) are set for the romance-fantasy film Tears of an Angel. Fanning will play an angel while MacKay will play a musician who falls in love with her. Stefanie Scott (Friday the 13th: Blood Ties, The Spectre) will also be in the film in a supporting role. Luca Guadagnino (Hideaway, Camp Manhood) is directing the project from Carl Flimmer (The Thin Man, Resident Evil 5).
Material Girl: Chloe Grace Moretz (Supergirl: Power, Corndog) is set to star in a "warts and all" biopic about the Queen of Pop, Madonna. The film will chart Madonna's rise from showing up in New York City with $35 in her pocket to becoming the biggest star on the planet, leaving a wake of broken hearts and hurt feelings behind her. Alma Har-el (Honey Boy, Gambit and Rogue) is directing the film from a script by Diane Esposito (Songbird, Power Rangers).
