IN DEVELOPMENT

Echoes of Red: Jeffrey Wright (One Day More, The Temptations) and Jessica Barden (Suzanne, You & Me) have joined Emerald Fennell's next directorial effort, the thriller Echoes of Red. Wright will play a high-ranking detective while Barden will play his meticulous younger partner. Mo Buck penned the script.

Luke Cage: The Purple Man: One of the big highlights of the most recent LRF Comic Con was Sabrina Carpenter (Bunny, Rediscovered Harmonies) and Matthias Schweighofer (Brick, Army of Thieves) revealing themselves to be playing Dazzler and Purple Man in the sequel to Luke Cage: Power Man. Also confirmed to be cast is Meagan Good (He Kills, Luke Cage: Power Man) returning as nurse Claire Temple from the first film. George Tillman Jr. is back to direct the Marvel Universe sequel once again from a script by Jimmy Ellis & Dwight Gallo.

Assassin's Creed: Eternal: Rufus Sewell (Bashenga: The Black Panther, Masters of the Universe: The Sword of Power), Lucy Fry (Y: The Last Man - Part 2, "Godfather of Harlem"), and Gemma Arterton (The Avengers, Sinatra) have joined the ensemble cast of the time-jumping Assassin's Creed video game adaptation. Sewell will play a cold Abstergo scientist, Fry a technician, and Arterton an ambitious executive. Edward Berger directs the adaptation, which was written by Roy Horne.

Darkness: Cara Buono (The Crow: Midnight Garden, The Nest) and Lizzy Greene ("A Million Little Things", "Ransom Canyon") have joined Osgood Perkins' latest film, Darkness - a suspense film set during a blackout when deadly shadow creatures emerge. Buono and Greene will play a mother and teenage daughter, respectively, trying to survive a city consumed by darkness. Jack Slipter penned the script.

Fletch: The Glen Powell-led new take on Gregory McDonald's Fletch has added Shea Whigham (The Punisher: Purgatory, Eidolon) as a police chief, Hunter Schafer (The Giver of Stars, "Euphoria") as a young drifter, Tracy Letts (Namor the Sub-Mariner: Imperius Rex, Revival) as a newspaper editor, and Zoey Deutch (The Thin Man, Spider-Man: Requiem) as Fletch's ex-wife. Richard Linklater is bringing his talents to the director's chair, while Chad Taylor is behind the adaptation's screenplay.

Voice: Rachel Zegler (Snow White, Y2K) is set for a big LRF debut as the star of Voice. She will play a gifted singer whose supernatural voice slowly alienates her from herself and others. Joining her in the film will be Boyd Holbrook (Black Widow x Hawkeye, Last Days of the American Cowboy) as a detective investigating deaths linked to her performances, while Courtney Eaton (Cecil, "Yellowjackets") will play her roommate. Ana Lily Amirpour (Crimson Fox, Y: The Last Man) is set to direct the film from a script by Johnny Mercer (Zorro).
