SEASON 24 GOLDEN REEL AWARDS!

Welcome to the Season 24 Golden Reel Awards ceremony. Tonight we will be celebrating the best Last Resort Films released of the studio's 24th season. Tonight, half of the season's 30 films will be vying for the 14 prestigious awards on the line. The nominees are led by Natural Selection with 10 nominations.

AND NOW FOR THE AWARDS....

AND THE AWARD GOES TO....

Tonight's leading nomination-getter, Natural Selection, gets off to an early start taking home the first trophy of the night. The film still has 9 other chances this evening. The same cannot be said for The Flash #2 and Undefeated Abe, who will now be sitting out the rest of this ceremony.

AND THE AWARD GOES TO....

Luke Cage: Power Man wins in its first of 3 chances tonight. It is the first superhero film to take home the Best Soundtrack trophy. It is the third win in this category for Dwight Gallo and the second for Jimmy Ellis. The Big One, Everything Will Be Alright and Natural Selection may not have won this one, but we'll be seeing them popping up throughout tonight's ceremony as the three films have a combined 20 nominations still to come.

AND THE AWARD GOES TO....

Luke Cage: Power Man takes an early lead in the race for the most trophies, winning its second already. It is unlikely to win the most though with only one more nomination remaining - Best Adaptation. The night is over for Friday the 13th as it has lost in its only category. This will be the 5th Most Wanted Sequel trophy for writer Dwight Gallo and the first for his co-writer Jimmy Ellis.

AND THE AWARD GOES TO....

Monaco came into tonight's ceremony with the second most nominations of the season. This award was considered a no-brainer for Monaco's star-studded ensemble. The Big One and X-Men: Sinister are now both 0-for-2 so far tonight. This is now the 5th win for Chad Taylor in the Best Ensemble Cast category.

AND THE AWARD GOES TO....

Natural Selection takes home its second GRA trophy of the evening - the first ever for both Warren Beatty and Angelina Jolie. Her Dying Wish and Pocahontas will each have one more chance to go home with a trophy tonight. Everything Will Be Alright can now join X-Men: Sinister and The Big One on the 0-for-2 list.

AND THE AWARD GOES TO....

Natural Selection continues its hot start with a third award - a second for Angelina Jolie already as well. Pocahontas and Birds of Prey will leave the night shut out, failing to win any gold. X-Men: Sinister, meanwhile, has missed in 3 nominations so far with its only chance left coming in the Best Adaptation category - which is coming up next.

AND THE AWARD GOES TO....

Shoe Dog is the first writing trophy for Wyatt Allen following two previous nominations for Best Original Story. Luke Cage: Power Man will end its evening with 2 trophies, while X-Men: Sinister and Queen Margot will both leave without a win. Shoe Dog will have 3 more chances tonight: Best Supporting Actor (J.K. Simmons), Best Actor (Andrew Garfield) and Best Picture.

AND THE AWARD GOES TO....

Monaco wins its second trophy of the evening after previously taking home Best Ensemble Cast. This is already the 5th win for writer Chad Taylor tonight. Everything Will Be Alright and The Big One are will still be looking for their first wins as we get into the major acting categories next.

AND THE AWARD GOES TO....

With Amy Adams' victory here, The Big One can finally sigh with relief as their winless streak has come to an end. Everything Will Be Alright has now lost in all 5 of its categories tonight. E.P. is also winless with its only chance left coming in the Best Director category later tonight. This is the second Best Supporting Actress victory for Amy Adams after she won in Season 7 for Revolution (also penned by John Malone).

AND THE AWARD GOES TO....

Everything Will Be Alright finally wins a trophy tonight in its 6th category. This is the first GRA trophy for Woody Harrelson. He was previously nominated in this category in Season 8 for Splinter Cell: Double Agent.

AND THE AWARD GOES TO....

Natural Selection now has 4 wins tonight, leading all films. Angelina Jolie herself now has 3 wins. The night is now over for Her Dying Wish, ending it 0-for-2. This is the 3rd consecutive season where the Best Actress trophy goes to an actress who starred in a film written (or co-written) by Roy Horne. She joins Elizabeth Olsen (Open Hearts in Season 22) and Sydney Sweeney (Poison Ivy: Mind Games in Season 23).

AND THE AWARD GOES TO....

The semi-retired Warren Beatty has won the Best Actor trophy for his first LRF appearance. He will go home with two trophies after sharing the Best Starring Couple trophy with co-star Angelina Jolie. This is the first time in the history of Last Resort Films that the winners of Best Starring Couple have also won Best Actor and Best Actress. The night is now over for Everything Will Be Alright, winning 1 trophy out of its 7 nominations. Natural Selection heads into the final 2 categories of the night with a commanding 5 wins, meaning no matter what the film will go home with the most awards.

AND THE AWARD GOES TO....

Monaco wins its third award on the night. Martin Scorsese has now won his first Best Director award after a previous nomination in Season 20 (Sinatra). The night is officially over for E.P., ending the night shut out in its three nominations.

AND THE AWARD GOES TO....

Despite not ending the night with the most trophies, Monaco at least managed to take home the final and biggest award of the night, ending with 4 victories. This will be the 7th Chad Taylor-penned film to win Best Picture, tying John Malone for the most in LRF history.

Congratulations to all of the winners! That's a wrap on the 24th season in the world of Last Resort Films. The Season 25 LRF Comic-Con will be on December 2nd, followed by the start of Season 25 on December 5th. In the meantime, stay tuned for the special GRA Edition of The Numbers on November 29th.
