Season 34 just has one more round to go. Here's The Roundup....
3. Teyonah Parris
While I did not particularly enjoy Assata overall as a film, I thought that Parris did a solid job in the title role.
2. Coriolanus
While it's a shame Coriolanus flopped at the box office, I think it was a solid adaptation. The cast was strong and the script moved things well. It was maybe a bit dense, but it does have the "Epic" subgenre.
1. Police Story: Retribution
I enjoy film series like this that may not be massive blockbusters, but keep churning away and giving their fans what they want. Writer Meirad Tako has built a nice little franchise out of Police Story that I hope he continues further (but let's try to avoid another Police Story: Brother).
3. N/A
2. Assata
From the start, something was off about Assata for me as a viewer. I'm not super familiar with Assata Shakur's life story, but it frequently felt that the story here was actively glossing over the bad actions to glorify the good actions. It's not a bad film by any means, but it is certainly a confusing viewing experience.
1. Profits
This round was a rough one at the box office, with the studio losing $14 million at the box office.
