Welcome to the 16th Official Last Resort Films Comic-Con! This season, we have exclusive news and behind-the-scenes information on six upcoming LRF releases for Season 32....
Round 2 - Red Lantern Corps
The LRF Comic-Con kicks off with the poster reveal for the already announced Red Lantern Corps film set to star Idris Elba (Wish You Were Here, Zero Hour) as Atrocitus and John Boyega (The Maid, Green Lantern Corps: Sinestro War) as John Stewart set for release in Round 2 of Season 32. The film is being helmed by Fede Alvarez (House Without End, Alien: Isolation) from a script by APJ (Tarzan, Marvin the Martian).
Round 3 - Gargoyles: A Tale Old as Time
Vin Diesel (Broadway, Superman: The Last Son of Krypton) has made a personal visit to the Comic-Con stage to reveal the official poster for the long-awaited Gargoyles sequel, Gargoyles: A Tale Old as Time. The actor has long wanted to get a sequel into production after the first film was a blockbuster hit and Most Wanted Sequel GRA winner back in Season 7. Writer Wesley Campbell (God of War III - Part One, Run) is behind the script for the film, replacing original writer Roy Horne (Hideaway, Starman).
Round 5 - Captain America: Winter's End
Round 5 will see the return of Glen Powell's Captain America in Captain America: Winter's End. Several members of the cast and crew of the first film are expected to return. A new villain has been brought into the mix and he is here today for an exclusive Comic-Con announcement.... Tom Burke (Crowley, Furiosa) is here and will be playing Baron Zemo!
Round 6 - Scarlet Witch
Scarlet became a surprise R-rated superhero horror hit back in Season 25. The first film functioned as a teenage origin story for the Wanda Maximoff character, but this sequel will reportedly expand the character into the bigger Marvel Universe with the additions of two major Marvel characters.... Doctor Strange and the Ancient One. The actors cast in those roles are here today for the panel - Andrew Lincoln (Northrock, No Promises in the Wind) and Jet Li (Mulan, Mortal Kombat II)!
Round 9 - Joker vs. Deadshot
When Joker vs. Deadshot was announced on the release schedule, everybody knew we would get to see Caleb Landry Jones' Joker back for an unprecedented sixth appearance, cementing his status as the Clown Prince of Crime for this generation. The big question though has been: Who will play Deadshot? The character has yet to make his LRF debut. Now we know that Walton Goggins (The ComeBack, The Final Will) is set for the role of assassin Floyd Lawton aka Deadshot. The star himself is here today, making a grand entrance wearing his own branded Goggins Goggles glasses, promising a special Deadshot edition upon the film's debut in Round 9 of Season 32.
Round 10 - The Avengers
LRF's Marvel Universe is finally trying to match the DC Comics Universe's award-winning Justice League film series with its first official team-up event film.... The Avengers! Set to be the finale film of Season 32, we don't know much about the project other than Gareth Edwards (Halo 5, Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer) already having been hired to direct the film. For the final Comic-Con panel announcement today, we have a first look at the film's poster, which confirms that the titular team will be defending Earth against the devourer of worlds, Galactus.
That's a wrap on the latest Comic-Con festivities. Season 32 will kick off on January 26th!
