And that's a wrap on an exciting Season 26. Here's The Roundup....
3. Marvel Universe
This season showed that the studio's Marvel Universe has possibly finally surpassed the DC Comics Universe as the top "universe" in LRF or will be soon (although GLC: Sinestro War is evidence against such a claim). It is at least continuing to close the gap between the two franchises, that's for sure.
2. The Deadliest Night in Show Business
I had a lot of fun with this one. The cast was all pretty great and worked well together. All in all, it was a very inventive film that took a genre and brought some fresh ideas into it.
1. Box Office
Thanks to a few late season blockbusters, this season came in as the 5th highest total season box office in LRF history. It is also now the 11th most profitable season in LRF history.
3. The Hulk 2
I didn't hate the Hulk sequel, but it had some pretty major flaws in my opinion that kept it from being as good as the first film or as good as it could have been. The villainous plan was fairly vague and the script didn't give Duplass much to sink his teeth into (to me, HG Hansen seemed more interested in writing the characters of Sterns and She-Hulk instead of the title character).
2. The Terminal Spy
Other critics seemed to be more forgiving of the film, but I couldn't get into it. Barry Keoghan seemed way too young and fresh-faced for the role of a seasoned spy poisoned by his own government, in fact much of the casting felt like the CW version of the story. Danny DeVito as a Russian official?! Evan Peters as a British prosecutor?! Peter Dinklage as a 6'2" man?! Yikes!
1. Best Actress Race
After a handful of seasons where the Best Actress GRA race was competitive and full of worthy nominees, this season looks like it has gone back to the previous reputation of being an incredibly weak category.
