Reaction: While the numbers were slightly below the first film (which continues a trend this season with a majority of the sequels released - more on that in the Box Office Breakdown), they are still very strong.

"Writer HG Hansen has made some of the same mistakes with The Hulk 2 as he did with some of his previous superhero films by frequently prioritizing other characters over the main/title character for extended stretches of screentime. At times it seemed like the script didn't know what to do with Bruce Banner/The Hulk. Some of these issues are able to be made up for by the talented actors throughout the cast and a few well-directed action scenes, but not all."- Robert Avery, San Jose Mercury

"The Hulk 2 is definitely a film that struggles with its focus at times. It bounces between plot threads and characters a lot, without ever really figuring out which ones to make a focal point of the film. After the announcement that HG Hansen would be taking over for Mark Newton as writer, I had some concerns. But I must say, that the film ended up being better than I expected - and certainly more solid than any of Hansen's DC work (even if it features some similar flaws at times)." - Dave Cone, New York Post

"Having a new writer is always difficult for a sequel, and Hulk 2 is no different. There are a few inconsistencies between the first and this one with characters that I just couldn’t shake. The story, or maybe how it was told, felt too convoluted. In saying this, I did enjoy seeing Hulk and She-Hulk on the big screen, more than their little screen encounters. The Hulk 2 is a fine film overall." - Sam Nestera, The Daily Telegraph

Rated PG-13 for action violence, some language and some sexual content
