From the Desk of Alfie Ellison, VP of International Development: The Last Song of the Earth

We are thrilled to announce that Golden Reel Award nominee for Best Director, Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese, has brought forth an original, deeply moving story that will be adapted for the screen. The Last Song of the Earth is a visually striking and thought-provoking drama set against the breathtaking landscape of Lesotho. It explores themes of grief, tradition, and the supernatural through the journey of a shepherd searching for his missing sister—an acclaimed musician whose disappearance leads him into a world where the lines between life and the spirit world blur.

This powerful narrative blends elements of African spirituality, magical realism, and emotional depth, and it is sure to be a compelling project for any writer with a passion for authentic, immersive storytelling. We are now seeking an experienced screenwriter to adapt The Last Song of the Earth into English. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate on a project with one of the most visionary filmmakers of our time.

As the story is highly original and closely tied to Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese’s personal vision, we request that any interested screenwriters reach out directly to Alfie Ellison to inquire about the project. Due to the sensitive and exclusive nature of the material, the story will not be released to the public at this time.

If interested Alfie Ellison will organise a meeting with Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese and himself with a translator to go over some notes Mosese has on the project.
