The film bombed pretty hard at the box office, and the critics felt the movie failed to do Gibson's novel justice.

After a couple seasons away, Hawke returned to LRF with a supporting role in Runaway, based on a French Canadian television series. Hawke played the father of the film's main character, a teenage girl who runs away from home. The film just failed to break even at the box office, but received strong reviews and was nominated for nine Golden Reel Awards (winning 5 including Best Picture).

Later in Season 11, Hawke starred in the drama Long Time from writer Chad Taylor and director Mike Mills. Hawke played a man going to his 20 year high school reunion. Up Next: Ethan Hawke doesn't have a lot of future roles lined up at this time, although rumor has it that a sequel is planned in case The Devil's Passage is a success.
