Reaction: We think it is safe to say that the studio's Marvel Universe is off to solid start with successful films now based on the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and the Silver Surfer. This film didn't reach the box office figures of the Silver Surfer films, but considering the potential distaste left over from three previous subpar non-LRF films featuring the characters we are pleased with the success it achieved.

"This superhero film never really gets beyond the origin of the characters' powers, and the pay-off wasn't as exciting as I was hoping. I still have high hopes for the future of these characters, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't hoping for more from them in this film." - Roger Taggart, Chicago Tribune

"The film opens with a bang. The rest of the film doesn't always live up to the excitement of the opening scenes, but at the very least I appreciated that this was a new take on familiar characters." - Dave Cone, New York Post

"The casting was spot-on, plain and simple. John Krasinski has long been a fan-favorite for the role of Mr. Fantastic, and he certainly fits the bill here. However, I was far more impressed with the performances from the likes of Segel, Bloom and Gadon. With Segel especially, I wasn't sure what to expect, but he brings a lot of layers to Ben Grimm." - Janet Donnelly, Empire Magazine

Rated PG-13 for sci-fi action violence and scenes of peril
