Reaction: Film series can become less profitable as they go on due to increased costs, as is the case here, but it is still a monumental success closing out its theatrical run as the 12th highest grossing film in LRF history.

"As entertaining as this third Superman film from director Jeff Nichols and writer John Malone is, it does feel like they tried to pack a bit too much into one package with multiple heroes and villains all vying for screen time. Aidan Turner's Superman continues to be the perfect middle-ground between the overly earnest Christopher Reeve and the overly gloomy Henry Cavill. Zod and his lackies could have used a bit more backstory to make the characters' big action scenes have a little more impact. It's a good continuation for the characters, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for the franchise." - Michael Carthage, Associated Press

"It's been a while since we've checked in Aidan Turner's Man of Tomorrow and it sure felt great to have him back on our screens. Daniel Craig is once again a highlight and the chemistry between Dakota Johnson and Molly Gordon gives the film an added charm that was much appreciated. It did feel like the film could've used another scene or two with Zod to let him really make an impact." - Reggie Coscarelli, San Fernando Valley Sun

"I must say, this is undeniably the best Superman movie to date. John Malone, in his third film, captures the timeless charm of Superman flawlessly. Aidan Turner's portrayal of the title character is outstanding, making me eager to see him in roles beyond the superhero genre. While the entire cast delivered great performances, the villains truly stole the show. Eric Bana proves himself as a remarkable antagonist, and Daniel Craig's rendition of Lex Luthor is truly unique. The film's personal conflicts and emotional depth added an extra layer of enjoyment, making it a definite 'Must See' according to Metacritic." - Aubrey Jade-Mitchell, The Sun (UK)

Rated PG-13 for intense action violence
