The Roundup with Jeff Stockton (Season 33 Round 3)

The hot start has come to an with this money-losing round. Here's The Roundup....

3. N/A

2. Falling on the Cross
I think the film is highly flawed, but the passion came across clearly on the screen and on the page from writer Jacob Jones.

1. The Ghost Connection
This one was a big surprise. I only vaguely recalled the first film being a modest success, and after all these seasons I certainly wasn't expecting a sequel. And I certainly wasn't expecting such an ambitious, time-bending story to follow up the gritty Cold War action of the first film. It was a gutsy move by Meirad Tako, but I'd say it worked out.

3. Falling on the Cross
Jacob Jones' latest wrestling drama was a clearly a passion project, but it had some fatal flaws that ultimately doomed the film to a mediocre outcome. The supporting cast didn't bring much to the proceedings, Merchant didn't bring much flair behind the camera, the story was way too long, and probably would have had better luck using real wrestling promotions rather than invented ones even if the wrestlers are fictional.

2. Watchmen
I found the film ill-conceived in almost every possible way. Casting Justin Timberlake as Ozymandias? Allison Janney as the original Silk Spectre? Making up a new major character with no real connection or use in the story. Hiring Jim Jarmusch to direct. Conn proclaiming its not a comic book film. The story being seemingly terrified of action scenes.

1. Box Office
Losing this much cash in one round ($65 million) will always have it in the bottom three.
