Last Resort Films Studio is thrilled to announce that it has officially begun the search for talented writers to help bring the iconic Thunderbirds to life in a groundbreaking new adaptation. The upcoming film will be helmed by visionary director Joseph Kosinski (known for his work on LRF’s Batman series and The Andromeda Strain) and will feature a star-studded cast, including the incredible, Best Actor Nominee, George Mackay (Excalibur, Pompeii).
Thunderbirds, the beloved 1960s British television series, will be reimagined for a new generation in this action-packed, high-tech adaptation. The film will explore the daring exploits of International Rescue, a secret organization that uses cutting-edge vehicles and technology to save lives in the most dangerous of situations.
George Mackay will play the iconic role of John Tracy, the resourceful pilot of Thunderbird 2, a role that demands both physicality and emotional depth. The casting of Mackay marks a bold step in ensuring the film’s combination of high-octane action and character-driven storytelling.
