Round 2 is a slight improvement financially but a slight decline in quality. Here is The Roundup....
3. Box Office
Without a huge blockbuster and even with Heist Society flopping at the box office, Round 2 had better overall box office gross and profits.
2. The Flintstones
While I found the whole doppelganger plot a little convoluted for a first film, the filmmakers clearly understand the main characters and showed a love of the characters and their world in their writing.
1. 1984 - Part Two
I found this second installment to be an improvement over the first. The characters feel more active in Part 2 and the world feels built up better. I'm very intrigued to see if there will be a Part 3 as I believe there's still a bit of novel left to adapt.
3. N/A
2. Box Office
While this round was better than last, there are some worrying signs. So far only half of the studio's six Season 34 releases have been profitable. The next sure-thing at the box office doesn't appear to until X-Men at the end of Round 4, so things might get a little rocky from the looks of it until then.
1. Heist Society
Nothing felt quite right with Heist Society. It felt a bit schizophrenic. The comedy didn't particularly land and didn't mix well with some of the more dramatic bits, and the story was all over the place (not just geographically).
