Captain Atom: Casting has been completed on the soon to be released DC superhero film, Captain Atom. Jon Hamm leads the cast of the film which has just added character actor Robert Forster ("Twin Peaks", London Has Fallen), Michael Beach (Patriots Day, Deep Blue Sea 2), model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Mad Max: Fury Road) and Stephen Baldwin (Faith of Our Fathers, Shark in Venice). Forster will play President Ronald Reagan, Baldwin will play Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, Huntington-Whiteley will play Hamm's daughter, while Beach will play a military colleague of Hamm. Matthew Vaughn directs the film from a script by Mo Buck.
God of War: Sarah Gadon (Halo: Reach, Sinkhole) can add another video game film to her resume as she has joined the cast of the upcoming adaptation of the God of War video game series. She is playing Eos, the goddess of dawn. Joining Gadon as additions to the cast will be Samara Lee (Annabelle: Creation, Concussion) and Claire Foy (First Man, A Farewell to Arms). Foy will play Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom and War, while Lee will play the daughter of Tom Hardy.
American Dream: Maika Monroe (Salem's Lot, I'm Not Here) and Jeff Goldblum (Hotel Artemis, Thor: Ragnarok) have joined Alden Ehrenreich and John Boyega in the cast of American Dream from The Safdie Brothers and Chad Taylor. Goldblum will play a shady character known as "Blackjack", while Monroe will play a model who has a relationship with Boyega.
ID: The upcoming teen comedy from director Rob Zombie and writer Alex Conn has added Jacob Tremblay (Nevada, Iowa, Heavy Rain), Jaeden Lieberher (It, Revolution), Noah Schnapp (The Child Martyr, Revolution) and Bella Thorne (Damned Ship, Midnight Sun) to its ensemble cast. Tremblay will play the younger brother of Alex Wolff's, Lieberher will play an alarmingly young drug dealer, and Thorne will play a classmate of the main characters.
Scion 2: The highly anticipated sequel to Scion has added a trio of young stars to its cast in the form of Jovan Adepo (Overlord, Fences), Taron Egerton (Blue Heat, Carbon) and Harris Dickinson (Trip, "Trust"). Adepo will play the son of Creon (Chiwetel Ejiofor), Egerton will play his ambitious friend, while Dickinson's role is of a mysterious outsider. Jeff Nichols is directing the film, which is once again penned by John Malone and Chad Taylor.
Asylum: Writer T.F.W. Hallowayne will make his writing debut with this young adult horror adaptation based on the series of novels by Madeleine Roux. Finn Wolfhard (Sinkhole, Lullabies for Little Criminals), Mackenzie Foy (Made in Abyss, Lullabies for Little Criminals) and Charlie Plummer (Somewhere, Somehow, All the Money in the World) have been cast in the film which tells the story of a high school student who attends a summer program at a college, where he and his new friends investigate their dormitory's mysterious history. Wolfhard will play the lead role, while Foy will play his love interest and Plummer will play another student they befriend. Neil Burger (Divergent, Limitless) is set to direct the film.
