3. Season 23
I think this season is looking like it will be a good one as I look at the schedule. Lots of films that sound interesting (and having reviewed the season's slate already, I think there a couple of masterpieces - yes, masterpieces).
2. Grayson
Grayson is a decent smaller superhero film. It still needed some more action/fight scenes to keep things exciting, but it never was completely boring at least. Taron Egerton has really grown into a more mature Dick Grayson by this point in the series, so it is definitely interesting to see where he and the character go.
1. El Dorado
Not a masterpiece, but the story works. It moves nicely and combines its genres well. My one big qualm would be that the characters have little to no personality, making them really hard to differentiate.
3. Box Office
Not a terrible first round thanks to the surprise success of El Dorado. But it is worrisome that the studio's first superhero project underperformed at the box office. More on that below.
2. Grayson
Why or why did Jimmy Ellis call the film Grayson? Clearly that last name has little name recognition in foreign language territories based on the poor foreign box office. Why not call it Robin? The film itself was mostly solid, although it could have used a bit more action.
1. American Idiot
Why or why didn't Meirad Tako just adapt the stage musical? I really think that doomed his film at the box office. The film itself was not completely unwatchable, but it did lack in the story and excitement department.
