Reaction: This one performed much more poorly overseas than we were expecting, to be honest. One reason that we've considered is that "Grayson" does not have the same kind of name recognition as "Robin" or "Nightwing", making it harder to sell. All that said, it is still a very profitable film, so we are certainly in moving forward with a sequel (which Jimmy Ellis has already written).

"Grayson starts different than the usual superhero films, which I am not sure is good. The early half of the movie is shrouded in mysteries, if it was advertised as a thriller superhero movie I wouldn't have much problem with that. The writer and directors have worked hard to make it feel different than the Batman movies and it shows. While I enjoyed the movie, I believe there's a lot of work need to be done for it to move in the upper echelon of DC movies." - George Overmyer, Baltimore Magazine

"Grayson is an entertaining film at the end of the day. It is definitely lacking in the action department though, but Taron Egerton has gotten good at playing this adult version of Robin and the film moves fairly quickly - at least when Grayson himself is on-screen." - Cal Crowe, Washington Globe

"I could not remember a single action sequence from this film when I walked out of it. That's not a good sign for a superhero or any kind of action film. The film also doesn't feature any of the trademark strangeness audiences have come to know and enjoy from the filmmaking team Daniels, so I do have to wonder what the point of hiring them over other more experienced action directors was." - Dave Manning, Ridgefield Press

Rated PG-13 for action violence
