Reaction: Looks like this project ended up a double-whammy of aspects working against it, being both an original and female-led superhero film. Not exactly the best way to start a new season, but hopefully most of the next 29 films work better at the box office.

"While corny in parts, The Saints offers a unique look into the world of superheros. It is not the most original story and actually reminds me a lot of The Powerpuff Girls, however there seems to be a type of charm to the story that led to me enjoying it more than not. I also have to give props here to Meg Donnelly, she outperforms not only her younger co-stars but the likes of Sacha Baron Cohen and Jason Bateman too. Overall I think The Saints is a fine movies that should be watched by any person that wants some entertainment with a little substance." - J. Darrell Ellington, Behind the Camera

"Well, the story's decent at best, it sorely lacks in the villain department, and it's more teen melodrama than a superhero film. Wilde's directing isn't at the level needed for directing this genre, but what she does get right is the chemistry between all of the cast and establishing their characters. The trio of Donnelly, Madden and Hawke keeps you interested. I hope to be seeing them all again real soon." - Maud Askes, Uproxx

"Who is this film made for? In a world where superhero projects geared toward younger females - even heavily marketed series from from Disney/Marvel - struggle to find an audience, writers Jones and Taylor have seemingly doubled down on everything. The story is competently told, and some of the action is decent, I just didn't find it particularly entertaining." - Dave Manning, Ridgefield Press

Rated PG-13 for action violence and some language
