Reaction: The rough box office continues with five of the first seven films of the season failing at the box office so far. This one, given its subject matter, isn't too much of a surprise financially though.
"A thunderous triumph of a film as it's sure to be one of the best of the season. Damson Idris showcases himself on another level that can only bring more opportunities to see him fully grow. The story itself is daring and poetic yet brutally intense at times." - Daniela Clark, Des Moines Register
"At Night All Blood Is Black is not an easy watch by any means - it is a harrowing and visceral journey into the madness of war and the trauma it can cause. Damson Idris delivers a star-making performance in the lead role. The story is maybe a bit too gut-wrenching at times though. The film certainly leaves a lasting impression." - Dave Cone, New York Post
"A powerful exploration of the dehumanizing impact of war. Damson Idris gives a raw, chilling performance as the lead spiraling into madness. Beautiful cinematography juxtaposed with chaotic brutality on the battlefield. The pacing can at times slow the film down, and some areas of Alfa's character felt underexplored. Don't let that distract you and turn you off from this gripping story from a point of view we don't see often enough in War Films. I'd be shocked if we didn't see best production design or a best actor nod from Damson." - Dexter Quinn, Cinematic Observer
Rated R for strong war violence, disturbing images, and brief sexual content
