Reaction: Out of 902 LRF releases, Anarchy is just the second to fail to hit $1 million at the foreign box office. Just two releases into Season 31, the studio has lost almost $100 million - not a great start....

"I think Alex Conn is growing as a creative and think it's great someone is going for being daring, but I felt like some of the issues he has with his characters (especially his main one) stretch them beyond the realm of likeability, making it impossible to try to find reasons to root them on or let alone want to continue going along with them." - Liv Simmons, Rogue River Press

"Anarchy is a frustratingly shallow blend of comedy and drama, centered on a thoroughly unlikable protagonist whose juvenile acts of rebellion against his high school authorities come off as entitled and trivial. The film's attempt to capture youthful angst is undermined by Ben's petty motivations. Billy Crudup as Mr. Mont is a lone bright spot. Anarchy ultimately offers little more than a tedious glimpse into the life of a spoiled, angry teenager, making it a disappointing watch." - Dave Manning, Ridgefield Press

"Writer Alex Conn had been doing a good job rebuilding his reputation in recent seasons, but Anarchy is a step-backwards. The plot is nonsensical, the main lead is an abhorrent, sociopathic nightmare, the jokes aren't funny and that's even getting into the fiasco that is the politics subplot, if you can even call it that. Put simply, there's nothing redeeming about this film and hopefully, this is just a one time regression back to a very dark age for Alex." - Delilah Schuler, Los Angeles Times

Rated R for language, sexual content, and some drug use
