Green Lantern Corps: To round out its cast, the latest DC Comics Universe production, Green Lantern Corps, has added Cleopatra Coleman (In the Shadow of the Moon "The Last Man on Earth"), Valerie Pachner (A Hidden Life, All My Loving), Bryan Brown (Palm Beach, "Bloom") and Miranda Otto (Downhill, "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina"). Coleman, Otto and Brown will play members of the Green Lantern Corps, while Pachner will play an alien queen. Christopher McQuarrie directs from a script by APJ.
Less: Tina Fey (Bright Neon Lights, Wine Country), Andrew Scott (The Killings, "Fleabag"), Antonio Banderas (Road Rash, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City) and Jay Hernandez (Missing Men, The Grind) have all joined the ensemble cast of the upcoming drama/comedy Less from director Paul Feig and writers Rosie JoLove and Rachel Hallett Hardcastle.
The Black Cat: Gerard Butler (Greenland, The Smoke in the Red Country), Gaspard Ulliel (Germinal, The Young Pretender) and Jennifer Ehle (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, Splinter Cell: Blacklist) have joined star Ana de Armas in the Marvel Universe adventure, The Black Cat. Ulliel will play a potential love interest for Felicia Hardy. Ehle, meanwhile, will play NYPD detective Jean DeWolff. Gerard Butler's role is currently being kept under wraps by the studio. Chad Taylor penned the script which is being helmed by director Karyn Kusama.
Care of Death: Jack Quaid (Chopping Mall, "The Boys"), Olivia Munn ("The Rook", The Predator) and Taye Diggs ("Miami Vice", "All American") have all signed on to the supporting cast of the psychiatric asylum-set horror feature Care of Death from director David Gordon Green and writer Ben Collins. It will be one of the few horror films set for the studio next season.
Lock Every Door: Fresh off the release of Escape the Unknown, star Dakota Johnson (Escape the Unknown, Superman: The Man of Tomorrow) has signed on to headline the thriller Lock Every Door, based on the acclaimed novel by Riley Sager. She will play a woman who is hired on as a house-sitter in an upscale apartment building where all is not as it seems. She will be joined by Sam Heughan (Bloodshot, "Outlander") and Jessica Brown Findlay ("Brave New World", England Is Mine). Brown Findlay will play her best friend, while Heughan will play a doctor that lives in the building. Debra Granik (Winter's Bone, Leave No Trace) will helm the film from an adaptation by new writer Rene Menzie.
Lowell: Ben Affleck (Revolution, Born in Brooklyn) has signed on to direct and star in the crime-drama Lowell from writers Jimmy Ellis (Pulp, One Day More) and John Malone (Namor the Sub-Mariner, Pulp). He will play a man who helps his brothers rob a bank after they return to Lowell, Massachusetts, following World War II with few prospects. Affleck's longtime friend and collaborator, Matt Damon (Newbury Street, Faster Higher Stronger) has signed onto the film as well, playing a local detective. Also starring in the film will be Adam Driver (Oklahoma!, The Crow: Resurrection) and Jim Sturgess ("Manson", Stray Dogs). They will be playing two of Affleck's three younger brothers. The filmmakers are reportedly talking to yet-to-be-announced rising star for the role of the youngest brother.
