Reaction: The turnout of this film certainly doesn't help Michael B. Jordan's reputation, but the low box office gross of this one is certainly not his fault. Dramas about school shootings are likely never going to set the box office on fire, plus you have a fair amount of sports content which historically does not travel well to foreign territories.

"Melodrama and odd flights of fancy aside, the film had a really good rhythm and pulled off the narrative jumping back and forth in time better than most could have." - Allen Poole, AV Club

"For most of the film, writer Jacob Jones and director Jean-Marc Vallee crafted a tense, well paced drama. Things start to slowly unravel around the midway point and the story spirals out of control from there, resulting in a ridiculous ending." - Chris Mears, Slashfilm

"Despite being the name actors on the film, Bana, Jordan and Foy don't really end up with a whole lot to do (although Bana gets a few good moments towards the end), with the majority of the screen time and focus going to Turpel and Simpkins. The two young actors do solid work, even if their characters are not the most likable." - James Tubbs Jr., Vice Magazine

Rated R for disturbing violent content and language
