Reaction: There probably was never much box office hope for a film starring Charlie Cox and Brandon Routh, but it would seem writer Jack Ryder wanted a challenge for his LRF return. While this one missed at the box office, we can confirm that Ryder will have a film released next season as well, which will hopefully go a bit better financially.

"Despite its flaws of being silly, episodic (to the point it felt like a TV show Pilot at the end), and having mediocre storytelling, The ComeBack manages to be a fun guilty pleasure. The comedic chemistry between Cox and Routh creates entertaining and engaging moments, reminiscent of an exaggerated Shane Black buddy cop movie. It's great to see Jack Ryder make a strong 'comeback', showcasing his talent. Welcome back, buddy! Looking forward to more of your work..." - Taylor Duncan, MovieWeb

"The supporting characters in The ComeBack help make up for the poor charisma and charm of Brandon Routh and Charlie Cox as the two main cops in the story. Ruben Fleischer's direction and Jack Ryder's writing have a lot of fun with the story - even if it becomes a bit too silly and over-the-top at times. With two more capable leading actors, I could see this as a new 48 Hrs. or Lethal Weapon style franchise, but Routh and Cox are not up to snuff. As much as I may be trashing on the starring couple, the script, direction and supporting cast really are quite good." - Tim Givens, Lexington Ledger

"Jack Ryder's script is full of clever references and beats - harkening back to both classic action films as well as LRF. Sadly, I must say that Charlie Cox and Brandon Routh lack the charisma to bring Ryder's script fully and successfully to life. Every time the script and Ruben Fleischer's direction bring life to the project, Cox and Routh suck it away." - Cal Crowe, Washington Globe

Rated PG-13 for action violence adult elements
