Season 29 continues with a few star-studded films. Here's The Roundup....
3. Heartstone
While I did not love Heartstone, I appreciate what Jacob Jones tried to do with it. I think there is plenty of room for original superhero fare in LRF, the formula may just need some more work. Jacob Jones is onto something though.
2. Solace
I thought there were a lot of clever moments in Solace and some colorful characters that really stand out. That said, the story itself didn't stand out much itself - I can describe the characters pretty well, but not the plot points.
1. The Champ
The Champ has become the first big challenger to Murder Mysteries for Best Picture come GRA season. The somewhat standard boxing plot is elevated by the performances - especially Affleck and Sengos - and a handful of unique touches.
3. N/A
2. Heartstone
I appreciated the effort from Jacob Jones' latest superhero endeavor, but something felt off about Heartstone from the beginning. The stakes felt low, the action light and lacking in impact, and the characters didn't have much weight to them.
1. Profits
With the lack of big box office hits this season, it is becoming more and more clear that this season's profit margin is going to rely heavily on the next Spider-Man film due out at the end of the season.
