Reaction: This Supergirl sequel managed to gross a decent amount more at the box office, but due to increased costs (mostly because of the additions of previous DC Comics Universe characters) it comes in just slightly under the first film in terms of profit.

“Supergirl Power is exactly what superhero films should be - fun entertainment. While I didn’t agree with some of the things that happened in this film I will say that the inclusion of the JLE (which we haven’t seen since season 16) was a stroke of genius. I’m not sure if I speak on behalf of all audiences and critics but man I had a blast. My biggest gripe - not seeing Moretz & Seyfried interact earlier on.” - Terry Setev, The Bateau Gazette

"Supergirl: Power manages to dip the DC Universe's toes into the whole multiverse identity crisis waters without turning into a total mess. Chloe Grace Moretz levels up as Supergirl, but Amanda Seyfried’s Power Girl steals the show as an absolute force of nature. But the real villain here is Ted Danson’s corporate sociopath, who chews the scenery in the best way. There are some pacing issues in Act 2, and the relationship subplot doesn't always land, but as a whole it all works pretty damn well." - Jaz Flores, ScreenJunkiezBuzz!

"Emerald Fennell’s Supergirl: Power is, I confess, not the sort of cinema to which I am generally drawn. Nonetheless, it must be acknowledged that this sequel - flourishing with dizzying multiversal dilemmas and crisply choreographed clashes - possesses its own sort of weight and sophistication. Amanda Seyfried’s Power Girl radiates gravitas. The supporting cast, particularly Jon Hamm as Captain Atom, lend the film a dignified bearing, and even the kinetic spectacle is imbued with narrative consequence. Alas, the picture occasionally loses itself in noisy convolution, and the final act is a touch overwrought." - Reginald Thistlewaite, The London Review of Film

Rated PG-13 for sequences of superhero action and violence, some thematic elements, and some language
