The Roundup with Jeff Stockton (Season 33 Round 9)

This round we saw the return of Supergirl in her second solo adventure - and some classic favorites from the DC Comics Universe fighting at her side. Here's The Roundup....

3. N/A

2. Supergirl
It was interesting how they managed to not only carry on Supergirl's personal hero story here, but also bring back some of the old-school MBWA DC heroes in ways that surprisingly didn't feel gimmicky.

1. Box Office
It's always good when all three films in a round earn a profit (even if just slightly like in the case of Sister/Sister) - and it doesn't hurt having a tentpole film like Supergirl: Power bringing in some big bucks.

3. N/A

2. Punch Buggy
A few of the jokes here landed, but a lot felt forced. Having stars that aren't known for comedy skill probably didn't help here as neither Chalamet or Dever really felt right in this film.

1. Sister/Sister
I don't think there was enough of a story here for a film (I would even argue the film does not have a concept) and I felt both male characters were completely bland non-factors - both underwritten and underperformed. It wasn't terrible - there just wasn't anything to sink your teeth into in either direction.
