Batman: Arkham: We know some of the heroes featured in the film, but now we know some of the members of Batman's Rogues Gallery that will be appearing in the film. Caleb Landry Jones (Outlaw Country, Runaway) is set to return as the Joker, who is an inmate at Arkham Asylum, which is run by Dr. Hugo Strange, once again played Kelsey Grammer (White Jazz, Batman: Caped Crusader) who briefly appeared in the previous film. Also returning from a brief appearance in Batman: Caped Crusader will be Matt Smith (The Queen of the Night, Ubik) as the Riddler. Also signing on to the film is Adrien Brody (Someone Else, Lullabies for Little Children), fresh off his performance in Someone Else, who has been cast Dr. Jonathan Crane, also known as Scarecrow. Joseph Kosinski directs from a script by APJ.
Tales of Skyrim: Stormcloak: Bertie Carvel ("Doctor Foster", "Babylon"), Dennis Quaid (Without Remorse, The Intruder) and Michiel Huisman (Merdeka, Crimson Fox) have all signed on to co-star with Russell Crowe and Sean Bean in the first Skyrim spin-off. Quaid, in his first fantasy film since Dragonheart, will play a former Jarl, Carvel will play his son, and Huisman will play a royal heir. Chris Weitz is directing from a script by Harry Wright.
The Young Pretender: Tom Hooper (Standing Back, Jack the Ripper) has signed on to direct an upcoming historical drama penned by Chad Taylor (Blind Faith, But What Am I?). Nicholas Hoult (Alternative, AGOS: A Game of Survival) will lead the film as Charles Stuart, who attempts to regain the British throne for his family. Joining Hoult will be Anya Taylor-Joy (Ypsilanti, The Hazel Wood) and Ben Mendelsohn (Under Pressure, Days Without End). Taylor-Joy will play Hoult's love interest, while Mendelsohn will play Hoult's father.
The Devil's Passage: Ethan Hawke (Long Time, Genetic Descent), Mahershala Ali (To the Other Side, Martian Manhunter), Garrett Hedlund (Red Farm, Outlaw Country) and Bill Pullman (Buried Child, October Crisis) have signed on to star in a western film from writer Jimmy Ellis (The Tournament, Our Father) and director Warwick Thornton (Sweet Country). Hawke and Hedlund will play two brothers who are bandits, Ali will play a hired gunman, while Pullman will play a small town sheriff in the ensemble western.
Captain Atom 2: Jon Hamm (Prey, Doctor Love) has signed on to return to the role of superhero Captain Atom. He will be joined by a few more returning cast members: David Morse (Captain Atom, Death Dream), Michael C. Hall (Buried Memories, Captain Atom), Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (Skyrim, Captain Atom). Morse plays General Eiling, Hall plays Dr. Megala, and Huntington-Whiteley plays Peggy Eiling. Matthew Vaughn (Captain Atom, Kingsman: The Golden Circle) has also returned to direct, once again from a script by Mo Buck (Someone Else, Halo 5).
The Temptations: Clint Eastwood (Missing Men, Buried Child) has been hired to direct the musical biopic of the group, The Temptations. Lakeith Stanfield (Genetic Descent, To the Moon) has signed on to star as founder and leader of the group, Otis Williams. Nate Parker (Eden, The Birth of a Nation) will play Melvin Franklin, Otis' best friend and another member of the group. Andre Holland (Ghost Town, High Flying Bird) has also signed on to the film as Paul Williams, the original lead singer of the Temptations. Lon Charles (The Crucible, Newbury Street) has penned the screenply.
