The Young Pretender: Hot off the success of the first season of his show, "L.A. Noire", Joe Alwyn ("L.A. Noire", Eileen) has signed on for a supporting role in the historical drama, The Young Pretender. Alwyn will play the Duke of Cumberland. He will also be joined by Ruth Wilson (Life on Mars, "The Affair") and Italian actor Toni Servillo (The Confessions, The Great Beauty). Wilson will play Charlotte Stuart, while Servillo will play Pope Benedict XIV. Tom Hooper directs from a script by Chad Taylor.
The Devil's Passage: The ensemble western from writer Jimmy Ellis and director Warwick Thornton has added the likes of Oscar Jaenada (Rambo: Last Blood, Snatched), Yahya Abdul Mateen II (Aquaman, Us), Paul Walter Hauser (Late Night, BlacKkKlansman) and "Nez Perce" standout Zahn McClarnon (Doctor Sleep, "Nez Perce") to its expansive cast.
Captain Atom 2: Chris Sullivan (Captain Atom, Cyrano de Bergerac), Elias Koteas (Splinter Cell: Conviction, "Chicago P.D."), Michael Beach (If Beale Street Could Talk, Rim of the World) and Dennis Haysbert (Playing with Fire, Fist Fight) have signed on to appear in Captain Atom 2. Sullivan will play Babylon, Koteas will play a shady figure named Homer Lockleed, Beach will reprise his role of Jeffrey Goslin, while Haysbert will play a general. Matthew Vaughn is directing the film based on a script by Mo Buck.
The Temptations: Clint Eastwood's biopic of The Temptations has added Jeffrey Wright (Elysian, Sweet Tooth), Jesse Williams ("Grey's Anatomy", Band Aid) and Alexandra Shipp (Shaft, Jexi). Wright will play famed record producer Berry Gordy Jr., Williams will play songwriter and singer Smokey Robinson, while Shipp will play legendary singer Diana Ross. Lon Charles has penned the script for the film.
Scream 5: Neve Campbell (Skyscraper, Scream 4), David Arquette (Newbury Street, Once Upon a Time in Venice) and Courteney Cox (Mothers and Daughters, Scream 4) have all inked very lucrative deals to return to the Scream franchise for a fifth entry, Scream 5. They will return to the roles they played in the previous four films. The Soska Sisters (American Mary, Rabid) will take over behind the camera for the late Wes Craven. Alex Conn (The Virgin Suicides, The Vegan Movie) has written the script.
The Fall Guy: Dwayne Johnson (Hobbs & Shaw, AGOS: A Game of Survival) has signed on to star in an adaptation of the 1980s television series "The Fall Guy". Johnson will play Colt Seavers, a Hollywood stunt man who moonlights as a bounty hunter. Jason Momoa (Ranger, Aquaman) has also signed on to the film as a movie star Seavers is doubling for. Jon Favreau (The Lion King, The Jungle Book) has been tapped to direct the film based on a script by Chad Taylor (The Powerpuff Girls, Blind Faith).
