Twisted Metal: Dane Cook (400 Days, My Best Friend's Girl), Danny Trejo (Cecil, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City), Jim Belushi (The Hollow Point, Wonder Wheel) and Norman Reedus (Black Lightning, The Devil's Passage) will round out the cast of the violent action horror film Twisted Metal, based on the video game series. Cook will play the obnoxious announcer of the twisted tournament, Trejo will play a contestant, Belushi will play an FBI deputy director. Reedus' role is said to be small, but important to the plot and is being kept under wraps. The film has been written by APJ and Chad Taylor.
Pontiac: Jean Smart ("Hacks", "Watchmen"), Eric Bogosian (Rebel in the Rye, Uncut Gems) and Angela Sarafyan (Blood Countess, "Westworld") have all joined the dark comedy, Pontiac, starring Glenn Howerton and Rachel McAdams. Bogosian will play a funeral director and Sarafyan will play his daughter. Smart's role has not been announced by the studio. Martin McDonagh is directing the film based on an original story by Jimmy Ellis and John Malone.
The Void: The Josh Brolin-led sci-fi drama, The Void has added Zachary Levi (Shazam!, The Mauritanian), Jaeden Martell (ID, Revolution), Donald Glover (Alex + Ada, Mandingos) and Marin Ireland (Crush, Harrelson) to its ensemble cast. The film tells the story of an astronaut who was lost in space for several years and is finally rescured. Jeff Nichols has been tapped to direct the film. Jimmy Ellis wrote the script.
Wonder Woman: Alexandra Daddario (Urban Cowboy, Damned Ship) has already been announced as LRF's Wonder Woman, but now we know that she will be joined by Josh Hartnett (October Crisis, Dark Places) and Julia Roberts (Ben Is Back, "Homecoming"). Hartnett will play US military pilot Steve Trevor and Roberts will play Queen Hippolytma, Wonder Woman's mother and leader of the Amazons. Kathryn Bigelow (Mr. Big, October Crisis) is directing the film based on a script by D.R. Cobb (Constantine: The Hellblazer, Splinter Cell: Conviction).
Golden Girl: Hot off another acclaimed and GRA-nominated performance in Sinatra (not a winner for the first time though), Leonardo DiCaprio (Sinatra, Caesar) has signed on to star in the mystery film, Golden Girl. The film hails from director Rian Johnson (Hotel California, Mass Effect 3 - Part 2) and writer Jacob Jones (INFINITY, The Crow: Wings of Isaiah). He will play a detective in 1947 San Francisco who is investigating a series of attacks on singers. Some of the big names joining DiCaprio in this one will be Anna Kendrick (Depth Perception, Bright Neon Lights) and DiCaprio's Caesar co-star Russell Crowe (The Emperor of Latium, Caesar). Kendrick will play a singer who begins a relationship with DiCaprio's character. Crowe will play a formerly famous singer who trained Kendrick.
Run For You Life: Florence Pugh (The Sandman, Pulp) has agreed to star in an English-language remake of the acclaimed German film Run Lola Run. She will play a young woman who quickly must get hold of $50,000 to save her boyfriend's life. Nicholas Hoult (INFINITY, Antarctica) will play her boyfriend, while Ralph Fiennes (Antarctica, Batman: Caped Crusader) will play Pugh's father in the project. Edgar Wright (Sandbox, Last Night in Soho) has been hired to direct the project based on an adaptation by Chad Taylor (Gambit: District X, Observance).
