The Void: Hugo Weaving (An Eye For An Eye, Metamorpho), Michelle Monaghan (Police Story: Case Closed, Red Planet), Anna Gunn (Cecil, "Breaking Bad") and Giancarlo Esposito (The Lone Gunman, Blackbird) have all signed on for supporting roles in the Josh Brolin-led sci-fi drama film, The Void, completing the cast. The film is being directed by Jeff Nichols based on a script by Jimmy Ellis.
Gigantor: New writer Joshua Collins will make his LRF debut with Gigantor, an adaptation of the 1960s anime series of the same name. Starring in the film will be Finn Wolfhard (Strawberry High, Sandbox), Paul Rudd (Lucky Luke and Billy the Kid, Ghostbusters: Afterlife) and Woody Harrelson (Suburban, Mass Effect: First Contact). Rudd will play a scientist who takes in his nephew, who will be played by Wolfhard. Harrelson, meanwhile, will be playing the local police chief. Lana Wachowski (The Two Souls, The Matrix Resurrections) is set to direct the film.
Wonder Woman: Naomi Watts (Long Time, Stained) has signed on to play the primary villain in Wonder Woman. She will play Veronica Cale, a billionaire industrialist obsessed with uncovering the truth surrounding the Greek pantheon. Geena Davis (Ava, "The Exorcist"), Tracy Spiridakos (Kill For Me, "Chicago P.D.") and William Petersen ("CSI: Crime Scene Investigation", "Manhattan") have also joined the project. Davis will play an Amazon queen, Spiridakos will play an Amazon warrior and Petersen will play a military officer. Kathryn Bigelow is directing the DC Comics Universe production based on a script by D.R. Cobb.
Golden Girl: Director Rian Johnson's latest A-List mystery film has added the likes of Jim Carrey (Sonic the Hedgehog, My Musical Adventure in Another World as an Old Man!) and Suki Waterhouse (Teen Titans, AGOS: A Game of Survival) to the cast. Carrey will play the owner of a record label, while Waterhouse will play a hot new singer. Jacob Jones penned the script to the film.
Run For Your Life: Regular Edgar Wright collaborators Simon Pegg (Aliens vs. Predator: The First Hunt, Bright Neon Lights) and Nick Frost ("The Nevers", Fighting with My Family) have joined his latest film, Run For Your Life, which is a remake of the acclaimed German thriller, Run Lola Run. Also joining the film will be Lake Bell (Shot Caller, Home Again) as the mistress of Ralph Fiennes' character. Chad Taylor is the writer of this remake.
Atlantis: A film based around the Atlantis and Aquaman mythos was announced at this season's Comic-Con with Steven Spielberg signed on to produce the film. David Michôd (The King, Outlaw Country) has been tasked with directing the film. Meanwhile, Harris Dickinson (Scion 3, Trip), Timothee Chalamet (Should've Been Here, My Musical Adventure in Another World as an Old Man!) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Lost Planet, Halo 6) have signed on to star in the film. Dickinson will play Arthur Curry, the half-Atlantean prince who is eventually known to the world as Aquaman. Chalamet will collect a hefty payday to play Arthur's conniving half-brother, Orm. Coster-Waldau will play King Orvax, father to Orm and the king of Atlantis. Jimmy Ellis (The Grenade, The World: Done to Death) penned the DC Comics Universe film.
