Blue is the Warmest Color: Joel Courtney (The Kissing Booth, The Empty Man) and Michael Angarano (Kurt & Courtney: All Apologies, The Second Life of John Wilkes Booth) will round out the supporting cast of the upcoming remake of the French film, Blue is the Warmest Color. Luca Guadagnino is helming the film, based on an adaptation by Alex Conn.
Maledicta: Elizabeth Banks (Pressing Luck, Brightburn), Timothy Olyphant (The Hulk, To The Max) and Toni Collette (Mexican Gothic, Nightmare Alley) have all joined the horror film, Maledicta. Banks and Olyphant will play a couple who hire Madison Iseman's character to babysit their child, while Collette will play the local sheriff. Adam Wingard directs from a script by Ben Collins.
Emergency: Josh Gad ("Avenue 5", Artemis Fowl) and Hilary Duff ("Younger", The Haunting of Sharon Tate) will round out the cast of the Angelina Jolie-helmed Emergency. They will play a pair of radio reporters in the project when the country is under the fear of nuclear anihiliation. The film is based on a script by Jacob Jones.
The Mobster's Violin: Al Pacino (Haute Couture, Mr. Big), F. Murray Abraham (Amelie, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic) and Monica Bellucci (Justice League Dark, Zatanna) will join Joaquin Phoenix in a new drama from writer Jimmy Ellis and director Damien Chazelle. Pacino will play a high-level mobster, Abraham will play a priest, while Bellucci will play the wife of a criminal.
Ghost Rider: Melissa Barrera ("Vida", In the Heights), Eamonn Walker ("Chicago Fire", A Lonely Place to Die) and David Denman (Greenland, Brightburn) have all reached deals to join the latest Marvel Universe production penned by Mark Newton (Gears of War, Rainbow Six). Barrera will play the love interest of the lead character, Danny Ketch (Aaron Paul). Walker will play Stephen Lords, the leader of a group of criminals who seek supernatural powers. Denman will play a detective who finds himself in over his head when he crosses paths with the main characters. Ilya Naishuller is directing the film.
Winter's Displeasure: Liam Neeson (The Past Before, Shake Hands with the Devil), Mandy Patinkin ("Homeland", "The Good Fight") and Meryl Streep (True West, Let Them All Talk) will star in the comedy/drama Winter's Displeasure from director Nancy Meyers (Kylie Dates New York City, The Intern). Neeson will play a recent retiree and widower who moves to a retirement community. Patinkin will play his best friend, while Streep will play a woman who lives in the community. The film was written by Eden Townsend (What We Were Promised).
