Round 2 thankfully was a big improvement financially from Round 1. Here's The Roundup....
3. Box Office
A huge improvement on the first round in every possible way.
2. The Invincible Iron Man
I had my doubts going into this film, but the quality mostly handled my concerns. I was still left with some minor issues in the end. Jack Huston ended up being a very good fit as Tony Stark, even if it did take a little bit to get used to.
1. The Monster Squad
Not a perfect film by any means, but as a remake it improved upon some of the original's weaknesses - especially improving in the casting and soundtrack departments.
3. N/A
2. The Invincible Iron Man
Like I said, I was still left with some minor issues. Not much, but enough to warrant mention in the Bottom 3. First, I really didn't feel like Denzel Washington was a great fit as Nick Fury. A bigger issue than that though came about with the villains. Crimson Dynamo didn't feel particularly threatening, and all the stuff with the Uranian and the Mandarin felt overly convoluted.
1. Something and/or Nothing
I'll give Meirad Tako this much, he put out a film that I don't think any other LRF writer could write. Some of the visuals in Something and/or Nothing were pretty strong, but the film was completely devoid of anything I'd call a story - and that's a problem in a storytelling medium.
