LRF COMIC-CON (SEASON 33)

Welcome to the 17th Official Last Resort Films Comic-Con! This season, we have exclusive news and behind-the-scenes information on six upcoming LRF releases for Season 33....

Round 2 - Power Rangers
The Season 33 LRF Comic-Con kicks off with the poster reveal for the upcoming Power Rangers reboot. With the cast and crew already announced and the film set for release in Round 2, we get a rare early look at the final, complete poster of a film. This Power Rangers reboot is being brought to the studio by director Jake Kasdan (Maximum Max, Red One) and writer Diane Esposito (Songbird, Ecstasy).

Round 3 - Watchmen
In Round 3 of Season 33, LRF will see the release of a new Watchmen adaptation, which hasn't hit the news circuit quite yet. As a Comic-Con exclusive, we have some breaking news regarding the film and the director is here to confirm it all. First, the film will be the first DC Comics Universe project for writer Alex Conn (Dean, Repeal and Replace). Second, the film is set to be directed by indie auteur Jim Jarmusch (Paterson, The Dead Don't Die), who is here for the festivities today. Expect casting news to come in fast and furious once Season 32 begins.

Round 5 - Lucifer
One of the wilder concepts in LRF's DC Comics Universe has to be the upcoming Lucifer film, a spin-off of The Sandman: Season of Mists. Jonny Lee Miller (The Sandman: Season of Mists, The Covenant) is set to reprise his role from that film in this new film which reports to be a "Dark Comedy/Fantasy/Superhero" film. For this Comic-Con exclusive, we have a look at some of the poster art featuring Miller in character as Lucifer.

Round 6 - The Hammer of Thor: The Frost War
Channing Tatum (The Hammer of Thor, Flash Gordon) and co. are set to return for a second Hammer of Thor entry for LRF's Marvel Universe in the second half of the season. Director Roar Uthaug (Love, The Hammer of Thor) and writer Roy Horne (Scarlet Witch, Hideaway) are both expected to be back for the sequel. For the Comic-Con panel, the filmmakers have brought a first look at the poster art for the film.

Round 8 - The Lone Ranger
In Season 33, LRF is set to release a new film based on the legendary radio/comics/television franchise, The Lone Ranger. This reboot is set to include one major wrinkle though as Tonto has been reimagined as a female role. To announce the project and casting here today, we have the two rising stars that are set for the lead roles of John Reid/Lone Ranger and Tonto - Jacob Elordi (Starkweather, American Gigolo) and Amber Midthunder (Pocahontas, The Maid), respectively.

Round 9 - Supergirl: Power
Round 9 will feature the return of Supergirl to DC Comics Universe screens for LRF, so we can obviously expect Chloe Grace Moretz (Justice League War, Fear of the Dark) to be back as the title character. But we have a jaw-dropping announcement for the Comic-Con panel - Amanda Seyfried (The Deadliest Night in Show Business, E.P.) is on hand today to announce that she is set to return as Power Girl for the DC Comics Universe for the first time since Season 16. The big wrinkle here being that Power Girl in the comics is the Earth-2 version of Supergirl.

Round 10 - Bashenga: The Black Panther
LRF's Marvel Universe is set to close out Season 33 with an adaptation of a little known character - Bashenga, the first Black Panther and King of Wakanda in Marvel Comics chronology - ancestor to the well-known Marvel hero. Little is known about this film at this time, but we do have its star on hand to help announce the project.... Kelvin Harrison Jr. (Sam, Kill Zone)!

That's a wrap on the latest Comic-Con festivities. Season 33 will kick off on May 20th!
