Resume: Eric Bana

Occasionally, Last Resort Films is a place where once prominent actors are able to make a comeback. One such major comeback in recent memory would be Eric Bana, the star of the upcoming sci-fi thriller Hunter. In this latest edition of Resume, we will take a look at the filmography of the this re-emerging star....

Bana made his LRF debut in the Season 2 film, Siren, the first film from writer Ben Collins. Bana played the villain of the film, Mr. Nyx, the owner of a supernatural sex club. The film was a success at the box office and with the critics. The film also garnered Bana his first Golden Reel Award nomination for Best Villain.

After another few seasons away from LRF, Bana came back in a big way with a villainous turn in the long-awaited big screen adaptation of Stephen King's novel, The Stand. Bana played Randall Flagg in the film, earning the Best Villain Golden Reel Award for his performance. The film was a hit and the box office and received positive reviews from the critics.

Season 11 turned out to be a busy one for Eric Bana, who made his second of three appearances in this action-thriller from director George Miller and writer Mo Buck. Bana played a member of a gang of thieves out for a big score. Despite positive reviews from critics, the film was a box office disappointment.

Bana finished off his big Season 11 with a major supporting role in S. Craig Zahler's remake of the Indonesian action film, The Raid. Bana played the main character's superior officer. The film received mixed reviews from critics, but managed to be a success at the box office.


Up Next: After headlining Hunter, Bana will reprise his role from the The Stand in a future Stephen King adaptation next season. After that he is in talks to appear in another film from writer Ben Collins, but that is still a ways out.
