Release: Our Father

Our Father
Genre: Drama/Supernatural
Director: Steven Knight
Writer: Jimmy Ellis
Cast: Brendan Gleeson, Shia LaBeouf, Robert De Niro, Michelle Williams, Suraj Sharma, Andrew Lincoln, Lea Seydoux, Asher Angel, Neel Sethi, James Earl Jones (voice)

Budget: $25,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $19,449,381
Foreign Box Office: $14,287,333
Total Profit: -$14,004,125

Reaction: The genre combination is an uncommon one, which probably didn't help the film's box office prospects. Due to some of the talent costs involved, the film also probably cost a bit more than it possibly should have, unfortunately, given the film's subject matter. Strong home video sales helped this film not lose even more money for the studio.

"The film feels a bit too episodic at times with its clunky structure. This lack of flow hurts the emotional components the story is trying to get across." - Harvey Wallace, New York Magazine

"Our Father features some strong character work from Shia LaBeouf and the rest of the supporting cast, while Brendan Gleeson excels in the rare leading role." - Michael Carthage, Associated Press

"Brendan Gleeson adds extra dimensions to the lead character that aren't always present in the script, making for a memorable protagonist. Meanwhile, the story is littered with interesting supporting characters that bring extra weight to Gleeson's journey." - Grace Palance, indieWire

Rated R for some violence, thematic material and sexuality
