This
round featured three profitable films, making it the second round in a row to accomplish the feat. Here's The Roundup....
3. Mackenzie Foy
She was easily the best member of the cast of Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Foy has further cemented herself as one of the brightest young stars in the business. The film suffered when she wasn't onscreen, but more on that later....
2. Mass Effect: First Contact
Writer Seth Overton has surprisingly managed to continue making Mass Effect films feel fresh each time they come out. This is especially impressive when you consider that Mass Effect: First Contact is the 7th film in the franchise and the 4th spin-off film.
1. Don't Hang Up
Don't Hang Up is an impressive film top to bottom. The film is well-written, well-directed and well-cast. Speaking of the cast, not only are the characters all very memorable, but they are all played by actors who are able to make them stand out even more so through their performances and presence.
3. Mass Effect: First Contact
I honestly really did enjoy the film as a whole, but the ending left me with some mixed feelings. I liked how the ending helped tie it into the other films in the series, but it also made me question the casting of James McAvoy a bit as a character we eventually get to know.
2. Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Mackenzie Foy was great, and the story was entertaining. The problem I had with the film was some of the other casting. Namely Mason Cook and the virtually talentless Willow Smith.
1. Queen
I like the music of Queen as much as the next person, but I feel like I've heard enough of them to last a lifetime lately on LRF soundtracks as well as outside of LRF.
