But What Am I?: BJ Novak (The Founder, Saving Mr. Banks), Lily Rabe (Vice, Hellraiser) and John Cena (Happy Nuke Year, Bumblebee) will round out the cast of the the upcoming Paul Reubens/Pee-Wee Herman film, But What Am I?, from director Michel Gondry and writer Chad Taylor. Novak will play Reuben's brother Todd, while Rabe will play Todd's wife. Cena, meanwhile, will have an undisclosed role in the film.
Rocket Red: Oleg Taktarov (Splinter Cell, "Hitman") and Colm Feore (XIII, "Leaving Everything") have joined the DC Comics Universe production, Rocket Red. Taktarov will play a member of the Rocket Red brigade, while Feore will play Russian president Mikhail Gorbachev. Brad Bird is directing the film from a script by James Morgan and Harry Wright.
The Virgin Suicides: Alex Conn's next directorial effort, a new adaptation of The Virgin Suicides, has added Nicole Kidman (Obsession, Destroyer), Matthew Broderick (Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Wonder Park) and Sarah Paulson (Isla Vista, Skyrim) to its cast. Kidman and Broderick will play the parents of the Lisbon sisters, while Paulson will play a guidance counselor.
Buried Memories: Rupert Friend (Adr1ft, "Strange Angel") and Felicity Jones (Prey, Under Pressure) have joined the island-set horror fantasy from writer Ben Collins and director Daniel Espinosa. Friend has been cast as a doctor, while Jones will play a mysterious woman.
Skyrim II: Dragonborn: Toby Jones (Solution, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) and Christopher Plummer (Guilt, Skyrim) have signed on to the big budget fantasy sequel, Skyrim II: Dragonborn. Plummer will reprise his role as Arngeir from the first film, while Jones will play an associate of Uma Thurman's character. Miguel Sapochnick is returning to direct the film, once again from a script by Mo Buck.
The Tournament: Jamie Dornan (Flash Gordon, Radisson) will return to LRF after a very busy Season 11 to headline the historical thriller based on the novel by Matthew Reilly. The film will be set in 1546, with Dornan set to play the young Queen Elizabeth's mentor, Roger Ascham. Raffey Cassidy (Vox Lux, The Killing of a Sacred Deer) has been cast as the young Queen Elizabeth. Yilmaz Erdogan (Sour Apples, The Water Diviner) has been cast as the leader of the Ottoman Empire, Sultan Suleiman. Meanwhile, Sean Penn (Spawn 2: Payback, "The First") will play a Cardinal. Paul Greengrass (Jason Bourne, Captain Phillips) will direct from a script by Jimmy Ellis (Our Father, Kindred).
