The new season of Last Resort Films continued on with its second round, so let's go started with The Roundup....
3. Mo Buck
Mo seemingly started out as a more dramatic writer, but between Skyrim and Halo and everything else, Buck has become one of the best blockbuster writers around.
2. Jamie Dornan
I found the film convoluted, but Jamie Dornan excelled in the lead role. It was his fifth film for LRF, and he seems to do better in each successive role as his star power continues to grow.
1. Skyrim II: Dragonborn
This sequel was a vast improvement in almost every category over the first film. The action is big, the characters are more focused and dialed in. I'll be interested to see what happens next with the hit fantasy franchise.
3. Paul Greengrass
His hyper-realistic style does not seem to fit the story, which probably could have used more of a classical touch. Plus, I've always found Greengrass to be overrated as a director (Ridley Scott, perhaps?).
2. The Tournament
The bones of a good film were there, but it is just a far too convoluted story that takes a long time to get going, and then doesn't pay off enough once it does.
1. Buried Memories
Not Ben Collins' finest work. I enjoyed the family at the core of the story (Moretz, Hall, Bateman), but found pretty much every other character unlikable and unnecessary.
