In Development

The Crucible: Three more have joined David Lowery and Lon Charles' The Crucible adaptation. Jurnee Smollett-Bell (Hands of Stone, "Underground"), Hugh Laurie (Radisson, Van Helsing) and Amandla Stenberg (AGOS: A Game of Survival, The Darkest Minds) have all signed on to the project in supporting roles. Smollett-Bell will play a slave, Laurie will play a high-standing member of the community, while Stenberg will play the live-in servant of the main characters (played by Casey Affleck and Rooney Mara).

Dragon Ball: The Wrath of the Demon King: Jackie Chan (Police Story: The Return, Marvelous), Morgan Freeman (Mr. Big, Into Thin Air), Benedict Wong ("Have Gun - Will Travel", Doctor Strange) and Daniel Dae Kim (Hellboy, "Hawaii Five-0") have all joined the upcoming adaptation of the Dragon Ball anime series. Chan will play Master Roshi, Freeman will play Kami, Wong will play Yajobre, while Kim will play Raditz. James Wan is directing the film from a script by Giovanni Garcia.

Hex: Kelsey Asbille (Scion 3, Orchid), Martin Sensmeier (The Creature, "Nez Perce") and Clancy Brown ("Gauntlet", Chappaquiddick) have all joined Brad Pitt in the DC Comics Universe western, Hex. Asbille will play a Native American prostitue protected by the infamous bounty hunter, Jonah Hex; Sensmeier will play Hex's drinking buddy; while Brown will play a villainous Union army officer. Chan-wook Park is directing the film from a script by Dwight Gallo.

The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger: After the success of The Stand, writer Matt Parker (The Stand, "Gauntlet") has set his sights on another famed Stephen King work - The Dark Tower saga. Christian Bale (Radisson, Drake) will headline the series as the titular Gunslinger, Roland Deschain, while Eric Bana (Hunter, The Stand) will reprise his role as the so-called "Man in Black" (Bana played a version of this character called Randall Flagg in The Stand). Matt Reeves (Halo: The Fall of Reach, Dino Crisis) has signed on to direct the film.S

Blind Faith: Rachel Weisz (The Carpet Makers, The Favourite), Russell Crowe (The Devil in the White City, Kite) and Lucas Hedges (Theater Kids, Letter to Myself) have signed on to star in Blind Faith, a religious-themed thriller from writer Chad Taylor (But What Am I?, Booster Gold: Lost in Time) and director Ari Aster (Midsommar, Hereditary). Crowe will play a leader of a conservative LDS church sect, Weisz will play one of his wives, and Hedges will play a young man who wants to marry one of Crowe's daughters.

Teslin, Yukon: David Harbour (Doctor Love, To the Moon), Ron Perlman (Mass Effect 3 - Part 1, Kite), Forest Whitaker (Shake Hands with the Devil, Dishonest) and Ann Dowd (Don't Hang Up, The Hunt) have all been cast in a new drama from writer James Morgan (Cold, Rocket Red) and young Canadian director Stephen Dunn (Closet Monster). Harbour will play a small town paper mill worker, Perlman will play one of his co-workers at the mill, Whitaker will play a corporate worker sent to close the mill, while Dowd will play the owner of the town bar.
