Reaction: This sequel grossed more at both the domestic and foreign box office than its predecessor, Police Story: The Return, which is always a good sign. The series has proven to be far more successful with foreign audiences - where the studio gets a smaller percentage of the box office gross - than with domestic audiences.
"Police Story: Extradition feels far superior to the previous film in almost every way. Writer Meirad Tako seems to have a better understanding of his characters this time around, while the action scenes are also much crisper." - Michael Carthage, Associated Press
"Outside of the setting and the Sam Jackson character, there isn't much here to differentiate this film from the heap of bargain bin films featuring action stars past their primes - with the paint by numbers plot and lack of character development." - Mark Rawls, Seattle Times
"This film has everything action fans will be looking for in the theater. There are impressive fight scenes, with the characters each having their own styles and personalities in the scraps. The pace is fast and stakes for the characters are always clear. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but there are worse ways to spend 90 minutes." - Paul Onkean, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
