Plot: The film begins in an isolated and snowy place. The snow is falling, two little girls are hidden behind in the middle of some trees and look towards the clearing. In the distance there are some people kneeling in the snow with guns aimed at their temples. Among the kneeling people are a man and a woman looking in the direction of the trees where their daughters are hidden, who are witnessing the scene. One of her two, her youngest, Anna (Darby Camp), would like to intervene but Nina (Alyvia Alyn Lind) holds her tight by the arm. A moment later the shots are heard. Anna remains as if petrified and Nina, with tears in her eyes, takes her and brings her close to her chest, embracing her.
Many years later. World famous assassin Nina Williams has been hired by the CIA and MI6 to join a team that is attempting to infiltrate "Kometa", a notorious criminal organization. The team's strategy involves accessing the target through a combat tournament to be held on the "Amphitrite", a giant luxury cruise ship owned and operated by Kometa. A leaked internet video showed a Kometa ship exploding inside the Bermuda Triangle, and it is feared that they are working on some sort of mysterious superweapon. Nina's official coverage includes infiltrating as a competitor in the tournament. However, Nina is also the "sweeper" of the team; if her partners fail, she has to finish the job. Nina's partners in the operation are Alan Smithees (Ryan Eggold and John Doe (Josh Lawson) who join the ship as waiters. The mission is to perform a video reconnaissance of a meeting held by high-ranking members and then leave the ship.
The tournament is about to begin, after initially being teased by some fighters, Nina enters the fighting cage easily defeating a big muscular man. The images follow each other quickly, she then manages to defeat a very agile young Asian with a powerful kick that breaks his neck, a sumo wrestler who submits easily and then finds himself in the final against a skilled wrestler with a French accent named Benoit (Georges St-Pierre) who initially manages to put her in difficulty by slamming her violently a couple of times against the walls of the cage and throwing her well-aimed flying kicks. At one point Nina raises her eyes licking a streak of blood that is falling from her mouth, smiles and runs towards the challenger avoiding his blows and giving him a series of well-aimed blows until the last blow to the stomach makes him fall violently. land. It is unclear whether Benoit is unconscious or even dead. The audience around the cage is entranced by the woman's fighting style. An Asian woman is witnessing the fight with a very interested face from an elevated special area. The woman in question is called Lana Lei (Rila Fukushima), she wears an ocher dress and holds a fan in her hand. Lana Lei is the owner of Anfitrite and is one of the main executives of the Kometa organization. Meanwhile in the ring Nina cheers the audience with the movement of her hands, fixes her hair and performs a flying somersault landing next to the referee before exiting the ring with a straight face.
Nina decides to go to the large pool on the ship's deck to cool off after the fighting. There are some guests around. Nina swims and does some apnea tests as endurance. At one point she emerges from the pool water looking around her and no longer sees anyone around her. As she leaves, she is surrounded and attacked by a large group of men. She manages to resist the attacks and defeat them all thanks to her abilities until one of the men draws a gun and is about to shoot her. A moment later a barrage of bullets hits the man killing him. Nina turns behind her. Lana Lei arrives accompanied by two men, Enrique Ortega (Wilmer Valderrama) and Bryce Adams (Tom Hopper), as well as a number of other gunmen. Ortega is a master swordsman and manager of Kometa while Adams is a sadistic gun and is a head of security for Lana Lei as well as her bodyguard and also her personal lover. There is also another woman who appears to be another high-ranking bodyguard from Lana Lei, Viper (Francesca Eastwood) dressed in an emerald green dress. Viper is leaning against a column a little to one side as she smokes a cigarette. Lana orders her men to take Nina to one of her rooms because she is amazed by her fighting skills and she wants to try to convert her behavior and recruit her, despite Ortega's chagrin. Nina, seeing so many people, decides not to resist and not to say anything and she looks at Lana Lei and the other two men with angry eyes. Nina is brought into the room, which looks quite spacious and elegant. Nina tries to figure out how to escape and she moves around the room, on the table there are various newspapers including one with Julia Chang on the cover. At one point she receives a noisy message in the tiny microphone inside her ear. Alex Smithees states that John Doe was killed by Kometa executive Edgar Grant and that she will now have to become an active member in the operation. As long as he is speaking the signal disappears to Nina's disappointment.
Nina Williams manages to find a way to escape from the room and starts wandering through the corridors, being careful not to be seen. Suddenly Nina tracks down a distress signal sent by her partner John from the freezer room, only to be ambushed by Bryce Adams who had recovered an important piece of equipment from John's body, the GPS device. Bryce teases Nina and confronts her, trying to kill her with her many guns. Nina hides among the many meats hanging in the freezer and manages to surprise Bryce by attacking him by surprise. Nina manages to wound him with a hook that hangs from the ceiling forcing the enemy to retreat. She follows the trail of blood she left behind at the cocktail bar, only to be attacked again by a barrage of gunshots from Bryce from which she manages to take cover behind the counter. He teases her and escapes back to the pool area. After knocking out the security guards ambush Bryce set up for her, Nina sees the GPS device in the pool's central platform and retrieves it. At this point, Bryce appears and activates the platform, enclosing the stage in numerous studded walls. He informs Nina that it was designed specifically for public executions and raises his fist to face her. However he is ready to point a couple of guns at her since she is her preference. Nina and Bryce engage in a very dangerous precarious fight, trying to avoid the spikes. Bryce tries to take down Nina and almost seems to succeed when she finds herself within millimeters of being impaled, but at close range, Nina uses her melee skills to beat Bryce. She pushes him back against her toes, impaling him in the chest and causing him to collapse to the ground. She has a moment to observe the brightness of the sun and then she expires. Nina then retrieves her fingerprint which allows her to access the elevator and runs away. However, Bryce's body is soon discovered and the security guards lock Nina in the elevator, forcing her to flee through the ventilation shaft just before she is captured. Later Nina meets Alan, who is informed of the developments. Alan limps from a leg injury. At this point he gives Nina a "Stingray", a small device that can be used to enter places Nina cannot. Nina uses the Stingray through the airways to record the meeting held by Kometa executives (except Edgar Grant, the man who killed John). Nina records the events that happen during the meeting. At one point Ortega massacres all the executives except Lana who only threatens with her sword. He and Lana briefly discuss Salacia and the mysterious Edgar Grant. Enrique asks for Lana's cooperation, but she refuses and throws a gas grenade, escaping her grasp. He insults her and asks her helicopter to meet him at the heliport on the ship to escape. Meanwhile, Nina sends the data to the headquarters via a laptop configured by John and then they make an appointment to escape the ship together even if they are unable to call for help. After attempting to escape in his helicopter, Enrique is blocked by Lana's men and surrenders. As she is about to arrest Enrique, Nina and Alan intervene to seize the helicopter and escape. Nina kills several of Lana's guards who start shooting at her. At this point Lana orders Viper to stop the woman. Viper shoots Nina with a kind of hallucinogenic dart, causing Nina a severe hallucination. Nina finds herself on a snowy ground, she looks around, there are many dead on the ground, the snow is full of blood. There is also a little blond girl (Nina little girl) crying next to her father and her mother. Later the dead begin to wake up and attack her. At one point her sister Anna also appears and insults Nina by blaming her for everything that has happened. Nina begins to fight with all enemies by defeating them. Nina returns to reality even though she is visibly tired and with blurred vision. Viper is on the ground, injured next to Nina. Lana approaches Nina to start fighting, allowing Enrique to escape and jump into the helicopter to escape. Lana makes a slide to avoid being hit by the helicopter and at that point Nina manages to grab onto the aircraft and then get on board, but she passes out soon after. Enrique wonders who she is.
Nina wakes up in a penitentiary, the Solitaria Penitentiary, where some men are shocking her with electricity. They do this until she supposedly passes out. Nina Williams was just pretending to be unconscious and she manages to break free right away and knock out the men in the room. Nina discovers that she is on an island, in a research facility owned by Kometa. While hiding from some armed guards who are looking for her, she enters a room and meets Lukas Hayes (DULE 'HILL), a scientist who is under arrest inside a cell who informs her of Kometa's plan to use satellites to heat. and activate the methane hydrate on the ocean floor. The result is a gurgle that causes ships to lose their buoyancy. The weapon therefore has the power to destroy naval vehicles from afar, causing them to sink to the bottom of the sea. Hayes says his plan was to find a new source of energy and an alternative to fossil fuels, but the search for him was distorted into a very dangerous weapon of war. The project is called Salacia, the mysterious operation that CIA and MI6 have heard rumors of. Then he tells her that he needs Enrique Ortega's fingerprint to open the cell where he is being held. Nina searches for Enrique and finds him while she talks to Heihachi Mishima during a conversation on the PC, realizing that he also has troubled business with Kometa. Heihachi says he will take it. Enrique says he can have it, but adds: "Like a corpse, that is!" At one point Heihachi informs Enrique of Nina's presence and turns off the call. Nina and Enrique start arguing. Enrique draws his sword and attacks Nina, who manages to avoid his attacks. With a double kick she manages to drop the sword to the ground and then hits him in her face causing him to stagger. The man manages to escape through a secret door. Nina obtains his fingerprint of hers by taking parts of her fingerprint from his scabbard and sword, which he left on the ground. Later she Nina runs to free Lukas who thanks her very much. Lukas informs Nina, who is questioning him, that if the Kometa executives take Salacia, it will mean the end of the world.
The two head for an elevator but first find themselves in a laboratory where they find armed mechanical parts that seem to resemble a pink-haired girl. Hayes says "That crazy old man is doing it!" Referring to the famous scientist, Dr. Bosconovitch. Nina nods making it clear that she knows him but she prefers not to say anything. The two arrive at the elevator which requires the use of two working fingerprints to function. The woman shrugs and exits the elevator ordering Hayes to stay there and after a moment she arrives with two fingers of some guard. Hayes looks at the two fingers in disgust. They use them and, after Nina turns off the electricity of a door leading to an old bridge, they walk through the door. Lukas warns Nina that the bridge is quite old, so she should be careful. As soon as the door opens he finds himself a woman in front of him. Nina is surprised to find her sister in that place. Anna immediately punches Lukas and then kicks him causing him to fall off the bridge without Nina being able to save him. She then challenges Nina to fight. She has a personality that contrasts a lot with that of her sister: Anna has a less serious personality, appearing much more playful, flirtatious and more sociable than Nina who, in turn, is more solitary, thoughtful and cold-blooded. During the fight it is revealed that Anna was sent by the Mishima family, probably Kazuya, to retrieve Salacia. At that point a flashback begins as Nina and Anna are little girls. Her mother Lauren (Elisha Cuthbert), former world Aikido champion, was training her daughters hard. Her father Richard Williams is also participating in the training session, shaking his head. At the end of the training, the two girls witness a confrontation between Lauren and Richard Williams. His father, in fact, wants his daughters to follow in his footsteps as hit men. Until now he had always secretly given his wife teachers, because she did not want them to become murderers too. However, only Nina had the desire to follow the teachings of her father, with the result that Richard preferred her to Anna over hers. The flashback ends when Nina gives Anna a flying kick and Anna falls to the ground. The woman gets up and the fight continues.
At one point, a robot, called J-Type, is shown watching them fight. This robot was also created by Dr. Bosconovitch to eliminate unwanted people. The robot jumps onto the bridge which starts to wobble under the weight and breaks in half. Anna doesn't keep her balance and falls instead Nina manages to stay on the bridge. At this point it turns out that Lukas survived the fall because he was trapped in the ropes that saved his life. Anna falls on him and they both land on the sandbags. Anna runs away. The J-Type lands on the ground and starts chasing Lukas. Anna, on the other hand, was hiding motionless under the sandbags so as not to be seen by the robot.
Lukas contacts Nina and says that he is being chased by the robot and that she must use the surveillance cameras to check where he is and guide him to safety. Nina does it successfully and they make an appointment where to meet. Lukas and Nina have to go through the hatch of the underground structure to meet but they can't because on one side Nina meets the J-Type and Enrique captures Lukas. Nina has to fight the J-Type. During the fight, Alan, who had managed to sneak into the penitentiary, shows up and activates a device that hits the robot and nearly disables it. He falls to the ground, where Enrique holds Lukas hostage. Alan and Nina chase them, but Enrique drags Lukas into a room where the doors are bulletproof. Suddenly, the J-Type is back in operation albeit with many failures. He breaks down the doors, pushing Enrique out of the room. Lukas escapes using a secret exit. Nina prepares to fight Enrique. Enrique says he should care more about J-Type. Nina is still challenging Enrique to fight. Enrique takes out two daggers and they start fighting. Enrique uses two twin daggers, which he can hurl with deadly precision. He also uses hidden blades in his boots to kick Nina. He and Nina fight, avoiding J-Type's robot which constantly charges them both. Eventually, the robot stops working, allowing Nina and Enrique to fight one on one. Nina manages to beat Enrique, forcing him to fall to his knees and spit blood. Nina lets him die, and Enrique watches her walk away from her, noting with a last smile that seen from behind her she is not a bad sight. Then he collapses, dead. After going through the secret exit, Lukas meets Lana and some of her henchmen. One of the henchmen shoots Lukas in the leg. Nina goes looking for Lukas and discovers that Lukas is dead. Alan is next to Lukas's corpse, which hangs from chains and has his throat cut. After discovering that the Kometa members and executives are returning to the ship with the codes to activate Salacia, they prepare to return as well.
Alan takes the helicopter while Nina was protecting him by shooting enemies with a sniper rifle, then takes Nina. Some men try to shoot down the helicopter to stop them from leaving, but they can't. Meanwhile, Anna is shown angrily as she watches them go. Now they will return to Amphitrite, Lana Lei is their target. Alan will enter from the aft side deck. He wishes Nina good luck. The helicopter is shot down by a missile launched by Amphitrite. Nina jumps out and manages to get into the ship. The helicopter and Alan descend into the water. Nina tries to contact Alan, but fails. Nina is ambushed by the augmented soldiers created by Kometa. Nina defeats them even though she realizes she has no more ammo and venturing further into her ship finds Viper in front of her. The woman has a knife that she sprays with a poisonous fluid and tells her that if she were touched she would die practically instantly. The two begin to quarrel, even Viper proves to be a skilled fighter but Nina with a trick of cunning manages to exchange the knife during the fight and poison Viper, who dies losing blood from her eyes and nose.
Nina goes to the captain's room. After arriving she manages to find a hidden room. Nina enters that room. She finds Bryce's corpse lying on a bed covered in roses and orders to activate Salacia. Before she can catch him, Lana gets out of bed and stabs Nina and then starts beating her. While Nina is in trouble, Alan enters the room and shoots Lana a couple of times. Lana says, "Edgar? ..." during this. Nina realizes that Alan is Edgar Grant, the man responsible for the deaths of John Doe and Lukas Hayes. She also discovers that he too is a street cleaner. Edgar reveals that at this point he intends to destroy the ship to avoid publicity. Suddenly, Lana grabs one of Bryce's guns and fires two shots at it that hit it. The man falls to the ground presumably dead. Lana escapes, albeit quite badly injured, grabbing Salacia's controls as she goes. She goes up the stairs using an elevator. Nina follows her. When Nina arrives in the room, Lana initiates Salacia's activation. Lana shoots her, but Nina dodges the bullets. Lana is shown laughing and bleeding to death. Nina now focuses on stopping Salacia. Nina uses the instructions she revealed to him Lukas Hayes to stop Salacia just in time. Salacia explodes. She is no longer a threat. However, the Amphitrite begins a self-destruct sequence. Lana, who is barely alive and on the floor, says "It's him ..." referring to Edgar. Nina starts running away and sees that Edgar's body is gone. Additionally, there is a trail of blood leading to where the deep-sea submarine should be, but the craft has disappeared. Nina thinks it's likely he took the submarine to escape. Nina then continues to find her way out of the facility. Nina goes to the escape pod, enters and the pod is thrown. She lands on the side of the ship. A helicopter with an open ladder appears. Before she can grab the ladder, Anna appears and kicks her. Anna challenges her to fight. Nina accepts. The two begin to fight with courage and power but Nina seems to prevail. At that point the ship begins to explode and breaks in two. Anna is about to fall down where she would be crushed by one of the two sides of the ship but Nina with a leap manages to save her. Nina takes her hand and remembers when they were children, and Anna comforted her when their parents were killed. They were shot dead after their plane crashed in a snowy area. Remembering this, Nina saves Anna. At this point the ship begins to explode completely but Anna jumps and grabs the helicopter ladder while she holds one of Nina's hands as the Amphitrite explodes. After a while they notice a group of boats. Anna lets go of Nina's hand and says: "Now we're even sis...". Nina lands in the water. The boats approach Nina. Nina watches Anna leave in the helicopter and smiles.

Post-Credits:
Nina Williams is located in a mountainous area in Japan. She is walking on a dirt path among the trees. A mysterious figure is following her. At some point she comes near a house. Nina says "Ok, now you can stop following me ..". A moment later the figure reveals her presence by landing from the trees near Nina, it is Kunimitsu (Pom Klementieff). A moment later the door of the house opens and Yoshimitsu comes out.
"The bare bones of the story are actually pretty decent. The problem is that those bare bones are surrounded by an extreme amount of unnecessary characters, exposition and plot threads. Katheryn Winnick is good in the lead role, but she is constantly sidelined by the dozen or so less interesting side characters."
