Plot: Isla Nublar. A woman, Nima Cruz (Genesis Rodriguez), is chased by something in the jungle. She is holding a can of Barbasol and has a bite on her arm. At one point the woman stops to catch her breath and she starts looking around in the trees and she sees many small bright eyes. Distraught, the woman continues to run. As she runs, she jumps onto a tree trunk and stumbles upon a rock. The woman gets up and looks a bit confused. She then she starts to get disoriented and keeps running. At a certain point the woman finds herself on the edge of a precipice, when, suddenly, one of the creatures she is chased by jumps on her and they fall together into the void. As she falls, the woman looks for something to hold on to and she falls to the ground, losing consciousness. A few moments later the woman regains consciousness and starts staggering and finds herself on a dirt road where a jeep is headed towards her. The jeep begins to swerve. The screen goes black showing the Jurassic Park logo.

Jurassic Park Chief Veterinarian Gerry Harding (Ryan Reynolds) and his daughter Jess (Angourie Rice) stand near a fence. Jess is excited because she wants to see dinosaurs and she looks through binoculars but she is sad because she can't even get one. Jess then asks her father if they can go inside the enclosure and see the dinosaurs up close, but he shakes her head saying it's dangerous. The girl asks about some buildings she sees with binoculars and she sees a car on the dirt road and Gerry explains that they are Hammond's visitors. Jess makes an ironic remark saying that she is sure she will see some dinosaurs up close. She finally gets to see some Triceratops fighting and she is fascinated. Gerry points to the alpha element by saying that she is called Lady Margaret before being warned of a diseased triceratops that he will have to take care of. He then tells Jess that he will have to go back to the Visitor Center because the boat will leave that night, before the storm hits the island. Gerry looks up at the sky hoping it will just be a tropical downpour.

Miles Chadwick (Will Arnett) is on the East Dock talking on the phone with his boss, Lewis Dodgson as he waits for Dennis Nedry to meet him at the dock. A few meters away there is a woman, Nima Cruz, who is smoking a cigarette. Miles makes it clear to Dodgson that Nima knows nothing and won't be a problem. Miles hangs up the phone and tells Nima that his contact will be at the dock any moment. Miles looks at a tracking device and says his contact isn't as close to the dock as he thought. Miles holds a photo of the Barbasol container in his hand and shows the woman that this "shaving cream" is what will make them both very rich. After that the speakers warn that the ship will leave soon. Given Nedry's delay, Miles decides they have to go look for him thanks to the location signal, which is stopped. The rain begins to fall, Nima uses her machete to help herself through the vegetation until she reaches an electrified fence. Nima asks what InGen is doing and Miles responds with a chuckle that fences are used to keep curious teenagers out. Nima doesn't believe Miles but she smiles. Miles then looks at his tracking device and sees that they are close to Dennis. Nima notices that the lights are off, which means the fence has no power. She throws a stick at the fence and there is indeed no electric shock. The two climb over the fence but do not notice the "dilophosaurus" sign.

As they continue to move, they hear a mysterious noise. Nima lights up the area but sees nothing strange and they arrive at the spot where they see Nedry's jeep with its headlights on. The two think the car has broken down. Nima goes up the slope to the jeep as Miles says he will take the other way because he doesn't want to get dirty. The woman arrives at the jeep and tries to look inside calling Nedry. She opens the door and something quickly comes out of the car and she runs away. Shortly after she is joined by the man and they realize that Nedry has been devoured, there are pieces of him scattered all over the car. Nima asks Miles for information, but he says not to worry and starts looking for the can in the car. Nima on the other hand is quite upset and realizes that Lewis is lying, that place is not a normal zoo. Miles realizes the can is not in the car as the woman insists on getting out of there. Miles shakes his head saying they won't get paid otherwise. Nima begins examining the area and finds human and animal footprints. Miles lights up the area better with the car's headlights and Nima is able to find the object that had fallen down the slope. She is joined by Miles who immediately snatches the object from his hand, opening it to check if there were any embryos. Then he celebrates that he will become a millionaire and scornfully says that Byosin will now have dinosaurs too. Nima is shocked after hearing the word dinosaurs because she thought there was valuable data or information inside the can. Suddenly she Nima freezes and she orders the man not to move. A noise behind him makes him jump and he turns around.

A dilophosaurus is a few meters away from him. The animal opens its crest and spits out a liquid that hits Miles in the neck. The man draws his gun and fires a shot causing the animal to flee. Nima decides they have to leave and goes back to the jeep to get it going again. Due to the muddy ground the jeep slides down the slope and crashes into a tree, almost crushing Miles in its path. The car lights go out causing the man to panic. Nima runs there and tells him to shut up and that he has a plan to start the car, but when the jeep doesn't start they get out and fix the loose battery cable. After the lights come back on, they realize they are surrounded by a dozen dilophosaurs. Miles says they must try to distract them somehow and suddenly pushes Nima towards them inviting them to eat her but is attacked and devoured instead. Nima runs to the jeep and is attacked again by a Dilophosaurus who breaks the car window and the car crashes into a tree again and becomes unusable. At that point the dilophosaurs suddenly run away, perhaps frightened by something. Nima approaches Miles and takes the can that sticks out of her pocket calling him an idiot for not listening to her. Other noises around her frighten her. Something very quick about her attacks her and bites her on her arm. After being bitten, she runs into the bush.

Gerry and his daughter are quickly making their way to the dock in their jeep because they are late for evacuation when they suddenly have to brake to avoid hitting a staggering woman who is on the road. The woman collapses to the ground but she is still alive even though she needs medical attention so they decide to take her to the visitor center. Gerry places Nima in the back of the jeep and orders his daughter to drive her, she is quite happy because she is the first time. Jess starts the engine and they leave. Gerry examines the woman and notices the wound on her arm. He tries to treat her with an antiseptic spray, but she won't let him until Gerry says he's a doctor. When he starts to be in shock he has to inject the adrenaline after realizing the bite is poisonous. Shortly thereafter, Jess is forced to stop when they encounter Bakhita, a young triceratops blocking the roadway. Jess stares in amazement at the animal as her father wonders why it's not in his pen. Gerry approaches but although that triceratops is very docile the animal does not move from there. When Gerry tries to close the gate he realizes it is locked and must be manually released from the maintenance shed. At this point, Jess honks and turns on the headlights, causing Bakhita to move and the man accompanies her into the enclosure starting to close it. These noises catch the attention of the alpha, Lady Margaret, who was approaching the fence gate and starts charging the gate before it closes destroying it. She also hits the jeep causing the horn to jam. Jess and Nima are trapped in the jeep with the horn stuck as Gerry emerges from the rubble of the gate. Suddenly footsteps shake the ground. A tyrannosaurus named Rexy is approaching and emitting a tremendous roar that catches Lady Margaret's attention. Gerry runs to the jeep avoiding the dinosaurs who start fighting and helps his daughter and Nima out. Gerry takes Nima on his shoulder and indicates to go to the maintenance shed. Once inside Gerry hugs Jess and assures her that they will be safe for the night and loads a tranquilizer rifle for added safety. Jess says all in all it was great to see two dinosaurs fighting and falling asleep. Gerry looks at her and Nima, hoping that the woman will survive until they recover the antidote to the poison.

The next morning, father and daughter slowly come out of hiding. The two wonder who won the battle and find only one of Lady Margaret's horns, but not her corpse, assuming she survived. Gerry is very nervous to know that the dinosaurs are on the loose and he looks at the wrecked jeep but realizes that at least the primary current is back to work. Meanwhile Laura Sorkin (Jennifer Jason Leigh), a scientist who is in a laboratory in the north with her young assistant Tammy Lawson (Keke Palmer) are watching through the surveillance cameras. They have access to the park's computer system and send an automated tour vehicle to the three survivors. When the vehicle arrives the three get on board realizing that someone knows they are there and head to the Visitor Center, Nima Cruz is in a frenzy saying nonsense Spanish phrases and mistaking Jess for her daughter Mariquita. Jess using her knowledge of the Spanish language studied at school manages to calm the woman down.

Shortly after the car stops in front of the Visitor Center. The three enter while in the distance a helicopter (John Hammond's helicopter from the first film) is flying in the sky. The visitor center seems empty, there is a lot of confusion and blood. Jess also finds a severed paw with curved claws. They both hear what appears to be someone trying to contact them through an emergency broadcast channel and find the radio under the rubble. The rumor claims to be Dr. Laura Sorkin and explains the disaster that happened in the park and why dinosaurs are around. Laura is aware of Nima's condition and she tells Gerry that she needs 400ml of Carfentanil. Gerry believes he would kill her, but Laura says she trusts her. The man remembers that tranquilizer darts contain carfentanil, so Jess decides to return to the Explorer to get them despite Gerry telling her no. She goes out and slowly goes down the steps, goes into the car and takes the tranquilizer darts. Until she comes back she hears noises coming from the forest and runs back to the visitor center. The girl enters and her father is not there. At one point her voice tells him to get out immediately.

The T-Rex appears from the side and Jess is forced to take cover behind a pillar and then manages to go upstairs where her father is. Gerry gives Nima the Carfentanil just as she starts having seizures. The woman calms down, but Gerry tells Jess they need a way out. They find scaffolding leading to some windows. They go up to the roof, with Nima being carried by Gerry. The vibration of the tyrannosaurus causes Jess to fall. Gerry tries to grab her, but she slips, grabbing only the stone above the door and I cling to the Tyrannosaurus who doesn't notice her presence. Gerry runs to the car and takes out the other tranquilizer gun and finds it's empty. Nima, now fully recovered, throws the darts at him and starts loading them into the gun. Gerry fires three darts into the T. rex, which starts backing off. Gerry runs to help Jess and they run to the car as the tyrannosaurus comes back to attack and they hide behind it. Tyrannosaurus rex starts moving the car with its nose, but only slightly. Gerry contacts Laura and tells her to get the car moving. As Gerry and Jess stand still, the car begins to move, forcing the T. rex to follow her. Jess, Gerry and Nima breathe a sigh of relief and return to the visitor center where Nima questions them about what she has happened to her. When Nima asks about her backpack, Jess throws it at her. Gerry says Dr. Sorkin called for help and it would be there soon. At that point Nima draws a gun and points it at Jess and Gerry, saying there will be no rescue.

The InGen rescue team consisting of Billy Yoder (Travis Fimmel), Oscar Morales (Demian Bichir), Vera Lee (Shiori Kutsuna) and pilot Danny Cafaro (Chris Messina) land in the helicopter near the visitor center. Danny stays there while the other three enter the visitor center to meet the Bravo squad, the support unit. Arriving at the scene, they find all the dead team members except one, the young Vargas (Moises Arias) who tries to attack them. After managing to subdue him, they notice a strange wound on his arm and speculate that he was bitten by some poisonous animal, the bite of which led him to hallucinate and kill the rest of the team. Examining the footage they find footage of Nima escorting Gerry and Jess out of the building threatening them with a gun. While watching the cutscenes, the dinosaurs attack Vargas and take him into the shadows to devour him while his screams are heard. Yoder, Najera and Lee leave the Visitor Center, with Yoder telling Cafaro to start the engine, because they are getting out of there.

Meanwhile, Gerry convinces Nima to stop and start a fire to keep the dinosaurs away, in hopes that the rescue team can see the smoke. The team's helicopter is flying in search of signs of life from the Hardings and glimpses smoke in the distance. At one point a Pteranodon hits the helicopter causing a strong blow to the pilot's head making him lose consciousness. Yoder intervenes and the helicopter lands without major apparent damage. The team checks for damage and discovers that he has electrical problems. Lee and Cafaro stay in the helicopter to try to repair it while Najera and Yoder head into the jungle but are soon attacked by a dilopohosaurus after Oscar accidentally stepped on an egg. The animal attacks but Najera intervenes by punching and kicking him, but when he draws his gun to kill him, Yoder tells him not to kill him because humans are just intruders. At that point the dilophosaurus escapes among the vegetation.

Meanwhile Gerry tries to make conversation and tries to sweeten Nima, but without much success until they meet Yoder and Najera. It seems that Nima somehow knows Oscar. The two fight for a moment but he knocks her down by taking her gun away and then the group heads for the helicopter but they don't find Danny and Vera. There are small dinosaur tracks in the ground and a gun is near the helicopter. Yoder notices Cafaro's blood and helmet. At one point Lee comes out of the vegetation running, behind her the Tyrannosaurus rex is chasing her. The group cheers on the girl but she is taken and devoured by the dinosaur as Yoder takes the controls even though the helicopter's power has not yet been fixed. Everyone goes in except Oscar, who tries to fix the fault. He succeeds, but only barely. The T. rex responds and tries to grab the helicopter with its teeth but fails. The T-Rex roars as he watches the helicopter fly away.

Yoder asks Oscar if he knows anything dirty about Laura and learns that Laura was once arrested for protesting for animal rights in the 1980s. As they look through the files, they discover that Laura wants to turn the park into a dinosaur reserve. Yoder tries to use this information to get her to leave, which is successful. She says that she must first put some lysine in the water supply of the Parasaurolophus she is studying so that they can survive until her return. At that moment they hear the helicopter start and see Nima without handcuffs about to take off. Yoder manages to jump into it, while Oscar hangs over it. Yoder tells Nima to land the helicopter, but she refuses. Oscar struggles to get on the helicopter and manages to pull himself in with the help of Yoder. There is a fight and the helicopter goes crazy and Yoder manages to take control of the helicopter just in time, leaving Oscar and Nima to fight. Nima takes out the knife and fights against Oscar. There is a fight between the two until they realize that Nima's knife has accidentally got stuck in the helicopter console.

Meanwhile, Gerry, Jess, Doctor Sorkin and Tammy approach the Parasaurolophus area to add lysine, the doctor tells some anecdotes about their way of life. Jess is fascinated by the way Laura treats animals. Jess and Laura go up the stairs to the water tower and the girl receives lysine to put it in the water. Gerry and Tammy are down in the paddock next to one of the dinosaurs because they saw him limp and are looking for why. Suddenly the animals start to get nervous and look scared. Jess and Laura spot the Velociraptors in the area from above and yell at Gerry and Tammy to escape to the water tower. The injured Parasaurolophus is attacked by a Velociraptor and dies while Tammy is surrounded by three other Raptors and is killed in her turn despite Gerry trying to save her. Gerry runs and barely makes it to the tower chased by other Velociraptors. At that moment Yoder's helicopter appears but soon the helicopter loses control and hits the water tower, spinning frantically before crashing into trees in the distance. Shortly thereafter, the Velociraptors begin attacking the tower. Gerry says the Velociraptors are smart and will find a way to climb the tower to reach them and then hearten his daughter. The group manages to escape from the collapsing water tower and repair in the maintenance tunnels.

In the distance, Yoder, Oscar and Nima are still alive. Nima is unconscious and the two men decide to check her backpack, in which she finds a can of shaving cream in which they find a secret compartment where the embryos are. Oscar goes on to see if he can find the others, while Yoder stays with Nima. The two, however, are forced to go to the tunnels too because a T-Rex wanders around the area. Oscar reaches the water tower and sees that the Raptors try to open the door. Oscar is baffled by the scene in which they succeed. The Raptors enter the tunnels and Oscar follows them with the knife without being heard. Meanwhile Nima wakes up and Yoder confronts her and Nima convinces Yoder that she will share the profits made with him and Oscar. While Gerry and Laura have a basic conversation, the raptors are sneaking up on them on the other side of the wall, but they don't know it.
Meanwhile, Laura says she put most of the lysine into the main water supply, which means that not only will the herbivores get the lysine, but all the other dinosaurs will get it too, angering Gerry. Laura and Gerry argue that some dinosaurs that might be able to reach other islands by swimming, which Laura thinks is ridiculous. Laura begins to explain to Gerry that they denied the dinosaurs the right to reproduce and that's not fair. Laura blames Henry Wu for the idea of him with the Lysine Contingency calling it a mass extermination. Gerry suggests Laura to clone Isla Sorna's dinosaurs again but Laura refuses because she would cost too much. Jess realizes that the Raptors have managed to reach them silently but are saved when the group arrives by Oscar, who slashes the alpha specimen with his knife, leading the pack to escape. However, some jets of steam begin to come out of the nearby pipes. Dr. Sorkin reveals that this means that the park's geothermal power plant is overloaded and on the verge of exploding, which would lead to the total destruction of more than half of the island.

Together, the survivors head to the plant to release the steam and avert the catastrophe. They manage to release the steam and reset the system, but in doing so they activate an emergency protocol that seals the entire plant behind metal doors. Meanwhile, the raptor pack manages to get inside just before the doors close, locking the survivors inside along with them. Upon reaching the upper floor the group notices that the door controls have been destroyed and that the only way to unlock the system is through the control panel next to the door they entered, guarded by the Raptors. With no alternatives, Oscar decides to go down and unlock the doors, managing to open the way for the others but despite his courage he is brutally killed by the Raptor Alfa in front of Yoder's impotent just when it seemed that he was saving himself. The rest of the group manages to escape and take refuge in the boiler room. Once inside, they find a man covered with some leaves to make it look like a nest. Yoder recognizes him as Danny, alive but paralyzed by the same venom as the white-eyed creatures who had bitten Nima and Vargas, who used the body as a nest for eggs. At this point, Sorkin reveals that she is aware that these mysterious creatures have managed to escape. Yoder, furious at her revelation and the death of her friend, points a knife at her and threatens to kill her.

At that point Laura confesses that the mysterious bright-eyed dinosaurs are a species of Troodon that she was ordered by John Hammond to eliminate after the discovery of the lethal effects of their poisonous bite, but that she had not had the courage to suppress them. he had locked up in special quarantine pens to study them when the breakdown caused by Nedry cut the power and the Troodons managed to escape. While Gerry and Nima try to convince Yoder to spare Dr. Sorkin, Jess finds a grate they can pass through to return to the maintenance tunnels. Just as they search for a way to open the grate, the troodont pack returns to the nest and attacks them. Nima and Yoder manage to keep them busy and eventually manage to escape through the tunnels. During the escape, however, the group finds itself separated. Gerry and Nima manage to escape to the surface, while the others get stuck in the tunnels. Gerry tries to go back, but Nima convinces him to stay by telling him that the others are capable of getting by on their own. At that point the two converse, Nima reveals that Isla Nublar was the ancestral home of her tribe of origin before the InGen bought it, evicting all the natives and building Jurassic Park. Oscar was one of the mercenaries sent to evict her people and she accepted the task of recovering the embryos both in revenge against InGen and in an attempt to ensure a better life for her daughter. Gerry promises her all the financial help she needs to help her and her daughter. At the end of the conversation, a damaged touring car attracts their attention and the two use it to reach the marine observatory, their original destination and where the others are also headed.

The two groups reunite at the marine observatory. Gerry and Jess hug each other until Yoder explains that they must leave the island as quickly as possible as the US Navy intends to bomb the island on behalf of InGen to eliminate the dinosaur threat. When Dr. Sorkin hears those words she goes mad with rage and she leaves the group by taking an elevator downstairs leaving the others stuck upstairs. The group manages to unlock the elevator and they hear her talking to the InGen on the phone to cancel the bombing by pretending to have taken the other survivors hostage. When that doesn't work she decides to make a drastic decision to demonstrate to InGen what it means to "contaminate the global ecosystem" by opening the underwater gate and releasing the Tylosaurus into the lagoon despite Gerry's pleas. The large marine reptile slams violently against the glass dome where the survivors were, knocking Sorkin into the water and devouring her as she smiles. Meanwhile, Yoder uses the phone to call InGen asking them to delay the bombing for at least 90 minutes to leave the island. As the group heads to the elevator, Yoder pulls out a grenade explaining that now that all his comrades are dead and that all he cares about is taking the canister with the embryos away, revealing that he wants to kill Gerry and Jess to prevent them. slow it down. Nima, disgusted by his behavior, sides with them and refuses to go with him. The man then throws the grenade to the ground and runs away in the elevator without realizing that Jess has stolen the canister with the embryos.

The three are sealed in the control room of the aquarium while the water begins to flood the entire system. Nima realizes that the only way out is through a cave in the lagoon that would have brought them directly to the surface. Jess is scared that they would have to confront the Tylosaurus. They wear the diving equipment and reach the exit avoiding the Tilosaurus because Gerry manages to close it back inside the cage by closing the gate with a harpoon. The three reach the boat that Nima's contact had left pending Nedry's arrival. However, they are attacked by Yoder, who is determined to recover the canister with the embryos. As he and Nima fight a frightening roar makes everyone jump. The T-Rex arrives there. Gerry tells everyone to stand completely still and kicks the can towards the edge of the catwalk. Yoder rushes to retrieve it before he falls into the water and reveals his location to the dinosaur who tears him apart. Gerry distracts the huge dinosaur to allow Nima and Jess to escape, but in an attempt to chase him, the T. rex damages the catwalk the two women are on and Jess risks falling and hangs on the catwalk while the spray can with the embryos falls into the floor below.

Nima watches the can roll but rushes to help Jess as the T. rex crushes the can, destroying it. After escaping the dinosaur, Gerry, Nima and Jess flee the island. Nima is very worried about the fate of her daughter now that the can has been destroyed and she can no longer be found, but as Gerry tries to console her, Jess discovers that the briefcase containing the million dollars of payment is on the boat. The three then leave Isla Nublar forever with the money needed to help Nima's daughter.
