Resume: Sydney Sweeney

Few other than Alden Ehrenreich or Elle Fanning have shot to stardom quite as quickly as the subject of this edition of Resume, Sydney Sweeney. She will soon be seen in theaters in Poison Ivy: Mind Games, the sequel to her Season 19 hit thriller....

Season 18
Fear of the Dark
Director: Craig Gillespie
Writer: Andrew Doster

Budget: $27,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $20,147,096
Foreign Box Office: $56,301,814
Total Profit: $10,380,102

Sydney Sweeney made her LRF debut not too long ago in the Season 18 horror film, Fear of the Dark. She had a smaller supporting role in the project, which did manage to turn a small profit for the studio despite the mediocre reviews.

Season 19
Poison Ivy
Director: Sam Levinson
Writer: Roy Horne

Budget: $21,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $44,139,055
Foreign Box Office: $39,000,457
Total Profit: $24,790,472

Next up for Sweeney was the title role in a reboot/remake of the 1990s erotic thriller, Poison Ivy. She received mass acclaim for performance and was awarded the Best Actress and Best Villain Golden Reel Awards for her work. The film was not only a decent hit with audiences, but it also was critically acclaimed (and landed a nomination for Best Picture).

Season 22
Gracie
Director: Mark Pellington
Writer: Roy Horne

Budget: $18,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $14,327,320
Foreign Box Office: $10,005,990
Total Profit: -$9,000,012

The first of two Season 22 performances from Sweeney was another title role, this time in Gracie. Her performance was acclaimed yet again (landing a nomination for Best Actress) even though the film lost money for the studio.

Black Hole
Director: David Robert Mitchell
Writer: John Malone

Budget: $27,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $40,047,600
Foreign Box Office: $26,905,480
Total Profit: $13,001,947

Sydney Sweeney then finished up Season 22 with a supporting role in Black Hole, which earned her a second and third GRA nomination for Season 22 (for Best Supporting Actress and Best Ensemble Cast). This film fared a bit better at the box office (and managed a total of 10 GRA nominations, winning 3).

Up Next: Sydney Sweeney has not yet lined up her next role after Poison Ivy: Mind Games, although the studio expects her to be pretty selective when choosing what that role is.
