Dean: Brian D'Arcy James (Sinkhole, Pain Hustlers) and Cheryl Hines ("Curb Your Enthusiasm", Popular Theory) have completed the casting of George Clooney's Howard Dean biopic. James will play Terry McAuliffe, the then head of the Democratic National Committee. Hines' role is a composite character. Alex Conn penned the political biopic film.
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom: We have some animated film news as the likes of Major Dodson ("The Walking Dead", Left Behind), Leo Abelo Perry (Cheaper by the Dozen, Fast X), Ryder Allen (The Scam of Success, Heartstone), and Sonja Ball ("Arthur", "Ping and Friends") have all joined the ensemble voice cast for children's picture book adaptation Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Peter Sohn is directing from a script by Jacob Jones.
Patient Zero: Andrew Koji (Namor the Sub-Mariner: Imperius Rex, "Warrior") and Nicola Coughlan (Gamera, "Bridgerton") have joined the Cristin Milioti and Brandon Sklenar-led zombie thriller Patient Zero for director S. Craig Zahler. Koji will play the scientist who becomes the first zombie, while Coughlan will play the lab partnet of Milioti's charcter. The film was written by Matt Parker.
Fading Nights: Willem Dafoe (Wonder Bean, Watch Dogs) and Hannah John-Kamen (We Were Never Here, Tail) have joined the urban crime drama Fading Nights. Dafoe will play a wealthy art collector who is the target of a robbery, while John-Kamen will play the love interest of the main character played by Donald Glover. Ryan Coogler is directing the Jimmy Ellis-penned project.
War of the Currents: Forrest Goodluck (The Dogs of Winter, Audible) and Serbian actor Nikola Djuricko (The Machine, "Stranger Things") have been cast in War of the Currents, a film based on the rivalry between Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison, as seen through the eyes of a young apprentice. Goodluck will play the main character, while Djuricko has bee cast as Tesla. Michel Gondry (Michel Gondry, But What Am I?) has been tasked with directing the film from a script by Meirad Tako (On Life and Living, Animal Farm). The film is based on the interactive fiction game, Tesla: War of the Currents.
The Brothers Kendrick: Tom Holland (The Journey, Tail) and Tom Glynn-Carney ("House of the Dragon", The Jetty) are set to headline The Brothers Kendrick, a music industry drama inspired by the Gallagher brothers of the band Oasis. Holland and Glynn-Carney are playing the two combative brothers/bandmates. David Mackenzie (Desert Dreams, Blue Ridge) is set to direct the film based on a script by Joshua Collins (Orange Blossom, Nineteen Minutes).
