John Malone (Scion 2, Ranger) first teased the idea while sitting down with Chad Taylor for the most recent edition of
Inside the Writer's Studio, and now he has reportedly sat down with Last Resort Films president Phil Dolan to discuss the possibility of writing a
Superman film for the studio. Just because there was a meeting does not necessarily mean the studio will move forward with the project as, just like with
Batman, there are additional hurdles to go through when it comes to the production rights. That said, Dolan was apparently impressed by Malone's pitch, so if the rights issues are able to get worked out we might see Malone's take on the character on the big screen sooner rather than later.
