Genre: Thriller
Director: M. Night Shayamalan
Writer: Matt Parker
Cast: Anna Kendrick, John Gallagher Jr., Ethan Embry, Clifton Collins Jr.

Plot: Amanda Pollard (Anna Kendrick) visits a specialist in New York City, but they tell her that her recent loss of eyesight cannot be corrected and that she is permanently blind. The specialist suggests Amanda attend a support group for those who have recently gone blind. Amanda scoffs at the idea, saying that she doesn't need to hear a bunch of sob stories. Amanda decides that there is too much noise in the city and that it's overwhelming. She tells her boyfriend Kevin (John Gallagher Jr.) that they should head out to her parents' cabin in Pennsylvania for a vacation. He asks why, and she says that she thinks it will be easier to get used to being blind where there's not so much commotion.

They drive out to the remote cabin as the weather begins to take a turn for the worse. Kevin says they need to stop for supplies on the way, but Amanda tells him to drop her off at the cabin first, then he can get supplies himself. She doesn't want to slow him down at the store. Kevin drops her off and then drives through the strong wind and rain away from the cabin and toward the store.

Ray (Ethan Embry) and Paulo (Clifton Collins Jr.) sit handcuffed in the back of a police car. They are being driven down a road through the forest. The storm knocks over a tree that falls and lands on the police car. The police officers in front are impaled by the tree's branches, killing them. Ray breaks out of the backseat and finds the keys to the handcuffs. Paulo begs Ray to get him out too, but Ray isn't so sure about that. Paulo tells Ray that he robbed a bank and hid most of the money before the cops tracked him down. He'll take Ray to the money and split it with him if he lets him out. Ray agrees and helps Paulo out of the police car and undoes his handcuffs. Ray however doesn't trust Paulo with a gun and takes both officers' guns for himself. Ray says that they need to find a place to wait out the storm.

Amanda is in the cabin alone wandering around feeling her surroundings and where everything is. Eventually she is able to make her way throughout the cabin without needing to feel around by counting out her steps. Kevin is on his way back from the store but the road is blocked by flooding and fallen trees. He grabs a bag of groceries and starts continuing toward the cabin on foot.

Ray and Paulo see the cabin off in the distance and start heading towards it. They look through the windows and see Amanda alone inside. Ray knocks at the front door while Paulo goes around to the back. Amanda answers the door. Ray tells her that he was involved in a car accident and just wanted to see if he can use her phone. She says that her phone doesn't work out in the woods. She then hears a noise from the back door and turns. Ray grabs her and throws her on the couch. He then realizes that Amanda is blind and laughs. Paulo joins Ray in the living room of the cabin. Ray tells Amanda that she has a gun pointed at her. Paulo asks Amanda where her car is, but she says she doesn't have one and was dropped off and will be alone until she's picked up in two days. Ray looks in the refrigerator for some food and finds it empty. He demands to know who is coming since he highly doubts Amanda was going to spend two days in the cabin by herself without any food.

Kevin continues to walk down the road through the storm when he spots the crashed cop car. He gets closer to it and notices the dead police officers and the back window kicked out. He tries to call the cops but struggles to get a signal. Once he finally gets a hold of the operator, he says there's two dead cops on the road, but then the call is disconnected. He decides that he better hurry back to the cabin.

Ray tells Amanda that they're going to wait for whoever she's with to come back with a car and take the car and be on their way. Amanda doesn't say anything, but observes that Ray has set one of the guns down on a table. Suddenly the electricity goes out, leaving the cabin in pitch blackness. Ray and
Paulo start looking for some sort of light. Amanda gets up and begins silently moving through the cabin. She grabs a fire poker from next to the fire place and begins moving towards Ray, who is talking to Paulo, telling him to find the girl. Amanda hits Ray with the fire poker and grabs the gun from the table. Ray stumbles to the ground and pulls out his other gun. He hears a noise across the room and begins firing towards it. Kevin hears the gunshots and begins running faster toward the cabin. Ray calls out for Paulo, but there's no answer. Ray realizes that he accidentally killed Paulo. Suddenly there's another gunshot. Ray hits the ground, screaming that he's been shot in the leg. He begins firing his gun wildly throughout the cabin until he's out of bullets. He then starts limping out of the cabin.

Kevin makes it back to the cabin just as the power turns back on. He finds the dead body of Paulo and Amanda hiding. He asks Amanda what happened. She tells him to call the police as there's a criminal on the loose. Ray limps through the woods as the storm dies down. He makes it to a clearing, but is quickly surrounded by the police. He drops to his knees and surrenders.
