Reaction: Well, it certainly performed better than Gerwig and Conn's previous collaboration, the abysmal Hippies in New York, so that's a plus. In the end it is not a story that is very marketable, so we're happy it managed to break even.
"It has a lot of the same problems as the last film writer Alex Conn and director Greta Gerwig produced, Hippies in New York. Namely unlikable, annoying characters and an air of self-importance from the story." - Tim Durand, San Francisco Chronicle
"It's way better than Hippies in New York, but that it still isn't what I would call a good film. The film can come across as pretentious at times, and for a film marketing itself as a comedy, there is a dearth of laughs to be had." - Jon Farrell, Hollywood Reporter
"Lucas Hedges gives the lead role his all, which that alone makes the film watchable. He does everything he can to make his character interesting to follow." - Sean Williamson, Toronto Star
Rated PG-13 for some language and sexual content
