The Roundup with Jeff Stockton (Season 11 Round 10)

That's another season in the books, people. For the last time this season, here's The Roundup....
3. Mahershala Ali
He is proving to be a legitimate leading man this season with Martian Manhunter and To the Other Side. I look forward to seeing more of him here at LRF.

2. To the Other Side

While the plot got a bit convoluted in the end, I still had a really good time at the movies with this one. The casting is great and Cuaron handles the scope of things well.

1. Taylor Kitsch
He had a great season with strong lead roles in both The Stand and this round's The Raid. He honestly should be a way bigger star than he currently is, but he was unfortunately the lead in three bombs early in his film career (John Carter, Savages, Battleship). He was good in all three of those films, so it's nice to see him come back around to more leading roles here at LRF.
3. Box Office
The box office was an issue in this round as it was in many rounds during this financially rocky season. Hopefully things are a bit more consistent next season.

2. Elijah Wood
He's an actor who can be good in the right role, but he seems to be miscast more often than not, especially in his LRF roles so far. He feels completely out of place as a romantic interest and a so-called handsome prince in Odette. Natalie Dormer and Elijah Wood have about as much sexual chemistry as my grandmother and myself - none.

1. Odette
It's just such an odd story when you take a look at the details. Jacob Jones is clearly a talented writer, but I think he needs to think twice about some of his decisions, especially when it comes to casting. The film could have worked better with a more suitable cast. Even just finding the right actress for the role of Odette could have saved the film. After watching the film I couldn't help but wonder what it would be like if Natalie Dormer and Mia Wasikowska switched roles.
