The Roundup with Jeff Stockton (Season 14 Round 10)

For the last time this season.... Here's The Roundup....
3. Silver Surfer: The Power Cosmic
I really enjoyed what Newton wrote for this one and Guerra was definitely an interesting and inspired choice to direct. The best thing about this film though was that it did not feel anything like Disney's Marvel films, which should bode well for the future of LRF's new Marvel Universe.

2. A Lost Sense of Heaven

A true character piece full of powerful and emotional performances from the perfectly selected cast. I expect this film to be a major player in the acting categories come GRA voting.

1. Control
Malone and Ellis are off to quite the start to their co-writing career following up the great Elysian with the even better Control. Once again they did a great job telling a grounded high-concept story with a quality movie star lead role.

3, 2 & 1. Season 14 Box Office
Those six straight money losing films really hurt the studio's chances this season, giving LRF the lowest profit for a season in its history. Additionally, some films that seemed like big hits on paper like Black Lightning drastically under-performed. Even closing out the season with four straight profitable films (including two big hits) wasn't enough to salvage the seasons' box office.
