Rainbow Six: The Tom Hardy-led Tom Clancy adaptation, Rainbow Six, has added Tim Roth (The Champions of Angor, Walker), Scott Speedman ("Animal Kingdom", Out of the Dark) and Miraj Grbic (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, All That Remains) to its cast. Roth will play the film's primary villain, the head of a company plotting to commit biological warfare on the world's population. Speedman and Grbic will play accomplices in the plot. Peter Berg is directing the film from a script by Mark Newton.
Hillside: Shameik Moore (The Nickel Boys, Be More Chill), Regina King (A Lost Sense of Heaven, "Watchmen") and Jahi Winston (Queen & Slim, Charm City Kings) have joined the urban drama, Hillside, from director Barry Jenkins and writer Jimmy Ellis. Moore will play the brother of the main character Deshawn, played by Alex Hibbert. King will play their mother, while Winston will play Deshawn's best friend.
Still Lives: Ben McKenzie ("Gotham", Line of Duty), Alan Cumming ("Instinct", Battle of the Sexes) and Alan Tudyk (Dead Space, Halo: ODST) have been cast in director Sam Taylor-Johnson's latest film, a thriller/mystery set in the L.A. art scene. McKenzie will play a private investigator, while Cumming and Tudyk play museum employees. Rachel Hallett Hardcastle penned the adaptation of the novel by Maria Hummel.
Firestorm: As it was announced at the latest Comic-Con, recent GRA-nominee Lakeith Stanfield (Drawing Dion, The Temptations) has joined the DC Comics Universe as Michael Holt aka Mister Terrific. Emily Browning ("American Gods", Shangri-La Suite) and Laura Linney (Suburban, Vixen: The Totems of Zambesi) have also joined the film, Firestorm. Browning will play Doreen Day, while Linney will reprise her role as the wife of Dr. Martin Stein. William Eubank is directing the film from a script by Jimmy Ellis and HG Hansen.
For Those Who Don't Read Me: Writer Mo Buck (And the Birds Rained Down, Skyrim III: Dovakhiin) is finally back to work for LRF after a break. His new project will be a (loose) remake of the French-Canadian drama, For Those Who Don't Read Me, Casey Affleck (The Youngest Hart, The Crucible) will lead the film as a ne'er-do-well poet who finds himself in a relationship with a single mother played by Cate Blanchett (The Queen of the Night, Mass Effect 3 - Part 2). In addition to starring in the film, Affleck will also direct.
Prodigy: Todd Haynes (Revelations, Guilt) has been hired to direct a film based on the early life of French child prodigy Minou Drouet. Julia Butters (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, "American Housewife") has been cast as Minou, who was considered to be a prodigy in poetry and music. Rachel Weisz (Blind Faith, The Carpet Makers) has been cast as her mother. Patrick Stewart (Evangelion, "Star Trek: Picard") has also joined the film, as a publisher who publishes Minou's poetry. Chad Taylor (Kansas City, Worried Mind) penned the film.
